    Went for a cruise...

Over our Canadian Thanksgiving weekend I finally had a chance to take my Mother In-Law out for a cruise in the Coronet....I'd promised her back around Mothers day that I would but weather, work, holidays and schedules never aligned to make it happen. Beautiful day for October and...

    Another road trip in Patches....

Guess I've been a bad influence on my soon to be Son-in-Law.. He decided recently that he wanted a 1st or maybe a 2nd gen so he has been trying to find one within his budget, and I have been looking as well. Well I sent him a link to a pair of 1st gen's about a 4.5hr drive from my place that I...

Symptoms of a bad oil filter...???

Did an oil change on Patches 4 days ago and every day I've used it going to and from work I have been getting a hot, burning oil smell from under the hood. I don't have any visible new oil leaks, none that have not been there for quite some time, but I can't determine where it's coming from...

My new old 4 post lift....

OK so now that Christmas and the holiday season is over I can start getting to the 4 post lift. First off is one of the pulley shafts got bent...not sure if the reason for the retirement of the lift, or maybe happened during disassembly, or perhaps when we were loading it and all the columns...

    My 1968 Coronet 500 Convertible story...Past...Present...Future...

Well time to get started on the history of my car, I'll be going back a couple years and explain how I ended up with the coronet. So it was around 1990 and I had just got my driver license and my brother was working a Ford Dealership called William Clark Ford. I was looking to buy an old car...

    New to me Camper....

I went to pick up a 1979 Vanguard camper that I'm going to be using...it's an 11' unit with a small bathroom, stove, furnace, hot water etc....and in decent shape for it's age. But since I didnt have any camper bars on my truck I had to load it on my trailer. Then once home I had to figure...

Might be getting back one of my old cars...

This is the one car I restored with virtually no expense spared. I sold it back around 2000/2001 when we had one young child and second on the way, so the car reluctantly went up for sale to pay off dept so we could afford our first home. Fast forward to around March 2020 when I was...

    Honey BBQ Chicken wings....

We used to get some quality Honey Garlic wings through our local Costco, but they changed vendors of this product and since then they were not even in the same ball park. We tried several different manufacturers of pre-made wings and just couldn't find anything we liked...and the last ones we...

    Dragging home more "Junk"...

Well after watching a for sale ad for a couple of Ramchargers pop up on and off for a year or more I finally decided to go check them out in person. Hummed and hawed and eventually convinced myself I needed them. ;) So I then had to scramble to clear a section of my acreage to store my "junk"...

    Just picked up a 68 300....

Came across this car a week or so ago, mostly complete 68 300 2dr with a 440/auto, power drums brakes, power windows, rear defogger. Guy was selling it cheap...$650 cdn for the car, but no registration or papers. Thought it would be a good parts car for my 68 T/C wagon, and perhaps the whole...

What to use this for in the shop?

Scavenged an old gun safe, it's about 10" deep, 21" wide by 56" tall, nice heavy duty metal but I can't think of what to use it for....add more shelves for storage, or cut it down and make it into something more useful? Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated.

1971 Dodge Charger Superbee or 71 Charger R/T

the 71 Superbee has been one of my dream cars since very early days of getting into mopars, and I'm now kind of in the position to purchase one. My absolute dream car I would consider selling internal organs for would be a 1971 Super Bee in F8 green with ramcharger hood and hideaway...

Thoughts on freeing up a seized part...

I picked up an old Craftsman radial arm saw for free a while back, had been left out in the elements for a number of years. I have been working on getting everything cleaned up and working as it should and have only one area I can not get working again. It's the arms left and right movement...

    Lost and old friend today...

Was cutting some metal with the old Dewalt and a cut-off wheel, the blade caught and sent the grinder across the shop floor, smashing and banging along the way. Smashed the blade up so went to spin it off but the blade lock would no longer work, and now there is a bunch of resistance and a...

    The Thrashingcows Hoosegow Experience..

Doc's little heart check almost loosing his Vin and the comment about getting pulled over with no decal reminded me of what happened last summer to myself and Patches.
