1967 dart

This is the happy moment for the weekend.

Papa volunteered his night to have a popcorn party with my daughter since i have not had a free weekend since August. [technically grandma volunteered but then got guilted into helping my daughters skating club run a bingo (raising money for club)]

Glad you got a little alone time with the old Dart. My girls are 11 and 12 now, so they are pretty self sufficient. And I have a very understanding wife. :)

so here is what i have been up to since i got the lights flashing

and i got the phone call today that my fuel cell has finally been tig welded by an old friend from highschool. :-)

The Barracuda on the glove box made me giggle a little :D Looking good man! Can't wait to see the finished product!! :2thumbs:

ya that barracuda emblem on the glovebox bothers me a lot. If i could figure out how to make the fish dissapear i would. Have even thought about machining a plate with dart on the plate to hide the fish. Doesnt the 70 darts have a blank trim piece for the glovebox?

I have three throttle cables. One is mutilated, one is installed and i am not sure what the third one is like. So i dont even know where the throttle cable came from or what it came off of.

The plan was to have it done last august for moparfest. So possibly this year if all the cards are dealt right. Just need to pick up the exhaust and some odds and ends. not sure if i will make it into paint though so it may have to wait one more year. :-(

I'm heading out to the shop in a few minutes. I'll take a look in a few boxes, may have an extra V8 throttle cable if I remember right

The one you have on there now looks like it could work maybe if you do some cutting and welding to extend your bracket further back

no luck here, i thought I had one but I can't seem to find it
I found a speedo cable and emerg brake cables, but no throttle
I think it may have been in with the parts with the car I sold, sorry

that dart was a v8 car factory a i recal..as for the fish...

get some modling putty and sand down the fish where you need to.....its actualy SIMPLE to get rid of the fish and script...ive done it..course i modified the whole dash cluster into more of a dart style setup when i did it

so the throttle cable must have been for a slant 6 and now i have a shorter throttle cable that looks better.

The last few days i have been tinkering with the fuel tank

top side

bottom side

now its time to set the pinion angle and finish running fuel lines and brake lines and modify the parking brake cables to work with the brake setup. Oh also have to modify the fuel filler neck so i can connect the fender to the tank. :-D Feeling very accomplished tonight :-)

Looking good as always!! It's the little things that take the longest though. I know that from trying to finish up the crewcab.

I built my own driveshaft and I volunteered my fathers expertise in welding the ends on. (I trust his welding more then anyone else i know)
I have all the lines ran, brakes bled.
Planning on setting up the shifter linkage at the next chance i get.

Hoping for a test fire on Hemi day (april 26)

The exhaust looks good. Was this a kit from someone...TTI...??? Only thing I might have changed would have been the exhaust clamps. I personally HATE that style of clamp. I switched a number of years ago the flat band style units. They are a little more money, BUT you have the option of being able to pull apart your exhaust with minimal effort if you ever need to.

These are the ones I use....in stainless too.

One more little tip I learned years ago inre to exhaust clamps; After tightening them with the ends pointing down, loosen them up and turn 90 deg. and re-tighten. It's never a good idea to have the clamp ends pointing down, ready to scoop up anything that passes under the car.

yes i still was going to turn them up but just have not had free time to play with it anymore. Just waiting for next free weekend or spare moment to tinker
