1967 dart

Could it have twisted slightly on the rotisserie since it wasn't braced? Just a thought. :hmmm:

i gotta ask....is there any more adjustment in the striker post or the hinges?.....i went digging thru old shots of the car and it seems the door was pretty close

everything lines up perfectly. I never noticed a damn thing till i put the tape on the body lines. The hinges that were on the car were worn and the latch was messed up. But i changed those from the parts pile.

I took all the windows out of the car a year ago. From what i remember everything lined up with the windows as well. As far as i know nobody touched that car since it left 69's house back in 2007?

Its mainly the outer body line that is giving me problems. Also the rocker panel will give me an issue.

If i remember right when i was stripping paint there was red paint under the black on the drivers door. (pretty sure it was drivers door) But everything seemed fine so i just assumed the door hit a pole in a parking lot and was replaced.

Everything in that area seems to be pushed in. Striker post and all. Mind you the original striker post was held on with body fill *shrugs*

Yeah the red paint was on the driver door. We were discussing the car last night as we were looking through this thread. Neither of us had any idea there was filler on the car though. We picked it up, parked it, came up with ideas that we never got around to and the car sat til XL bought it. 69 has a few pics of it just before it left for XL's place.

i knew the door was red.....but outside of that i had assumed all of the rest of the paint as original...it sure looked it.....the door...when it was here was out of alignment but it seems to be just the worn hinges and the bottom edges of the door..leading to be the busted out of adjustment striker and worn hinges

and take special note that NONE of the shots are in order....but note the dates on the shots!!!!!

i never once turned a wrench on that poor dart....all i did was gather find and horde more parts for it lol little by little

SO i finally loaded up Dartie and brought her to the body shop. Work will be slow as financials are a bit slow at the moment. hoping to have her out of the body shop by the summer.

3 year old Daughter helped me bring Dartie there and she was my photographer. (Pictures didnt turn out, but she was excited

)
and she helped me back the car off the trailer (she steered)

the tight financial issues that will plague me for the next year will slow things down more for this project but the body shop will do a payment plan for me. So i am making weekly payments till i am caught up so its going to be a long slow process unless i come into money lol

i checked on the Dart on Tuesday and the body man said 10 days and he will have the body pulled out and starting to smooth out the body sides to precision. :)
He first has to get a sweet 55 chevy pickup out of the shop to get the space to work on it.
The body man also remembers my dads old 73 challenger that he painted sassy grass and also his old 68 fargo truck that was sassy grass and a slew of other old chevy's that were painted green by my father. Every car he owned out of highschool was green... till the fargo got the sassy grass ... and then the challenger.
The fargo truck was the legendary truck in my fathers world and the chally was the legendary car of the community...

The body man asked what color the dart would be
i said "sassy grass"
he smiled and asked if my dad still had his 55 gallon drums of that color since every car he had was green and thought he got a discount on the color.
