What are you working on?

Soap box time of the year, got Him a second place in his age group, trophy means happy kid! 20250226_181108.jpgLast year I got him best paint on the black one, failed Him on the speed. built the other for his little brother. 20240310_160430.jpg

Well models are what I'm reduced back to now after 20 years of building the real thing, at least cursing time of the year is coming, see how far I get before something falls out of the "Cuda!

Took a break from the car today & worked on the grounds a little, had lost all bushes on one side & had a blank spot on the other for years, then the next one lost a lot, trinmmed that down to where there were signs of life, see if it comes back.
Fill in bush............20250401_152021.jpgLittle babies on the other side................20250401_152005.jpgNow if my damn grass will grow this year, it might look decent!

This was one of my projects while the Plymouth was growing dirt. This is my 2011 Harley Dyna Fatbob, it started life with a 96 inch motor but after souping up the little motor it wasn't enough so I bought a 110 inch Screaming Eagle big bore kit. It also has a list of goodies from Vance & Hines, Roland Sands, Screaming Eagle and Thunder Max. Tried to get fancy and quiet down the valve train and it didn't go well. After installing a set of rock lockers it decided that they are not staying in the the rocker box and levered a bolt out of the hole taking the treads with it. HD stands for hundred dollar and this idea cost me 3 HDs. All is fixed and it's a torque monster. Lasted project is making this fancy kick stand fit and a vid or the first start of the new "big" motor.

Hey! Remember the kitchen renovation?

Remember winter?

Yeah. It snowed like sunnovabitch in February and we got ice dams.
Roof leaked.
Only in the kitchen.

So, new roof is on. Ripped it all off, down to the structure and put in new insulation, plywood, ice and water shield, etc..
Siding, soffits, fascia, and window cladding is going in now.

While the roof was off, I installed a vent fan in the upstairs bathroom.

All my Charger money…. POOF! Gone.

But Mrs DCF is happy. So, I’m happy.

Could have saved all that & moved into the charger!

I have done almost everything in this house at least twice, most myself, next round if I live that long I'll have to pay someone to do it, that is gonna hurt!

Almost done with the enterprise so I got the 65 painted up, that's up next!

I can't wait until I have the free time to build some models. I've got several still in sealed boxes that I got for Christmas about 5 years ago.

Thats where most came from, holidays past, the only one I bought was the 65 satellite, gonna try & build each of my cars past!

I've been working on these two, albeit very slowly.
Both are rebuilds of gluebombs picked up over the years. The AMX is a very early release of the '72 George Folmer/Roy Woods Racing entry. Stipped, some body work, primed to get rid of the old lacquer crazing of the styrene, and re-done in nail polish with 2k clear over top.
The Challenger is largely a parts bin rebuild, in Chrysler white base and 2k clear.
Haven't done much to them since before Christmas. Been re-doing a lot of the window and door casings and baseboards in this old shack since gutting and dry walling the living room and upstairs last fall.

Dang, that paint is nice, I'd say they went to the right man for that!

Now you have me thinking of clear coating the 65, I usually didn't bother on models, see if I can pull it off or if I ruin the model?

As usual all was going pretty good till I try & paint the small details, just not steady enough anymore. 20250521_155148.jpgShe be space ready!20250521_155410.jpg20250521_155430.jpg
With that little push from resto I went ahead & clear coated the 65, it actually makes the color closer to the dark green I had, don't think I screwed it up? See when dry. 20250521_155921.jpg
Gonna have to clean off another shelf section if I keep this up.20250521_160228 - Copy.jpg

Had a few minuets to kill so I started on the satellite , weird, it had a few hemi parts on the sprue but no hemi engine.
front end looks like the other, suspect it will be glued solid.
20250529_162100.jpgGetting those microscopic spinners on there was fun, I'm getting old! 20250529_162049.jpg

I'm missing a pedal for the shifter I put in, but mine back in the day had the hurst shifter with a super long shaft, 20 seconds to get from 1st to 2nd! Oh yea, don't think I had a console?20250601_162759.jpg

Finished off the 65, paint leaves a little to be desired. nice bay20250602_144216.jpgPut adab here & there on the caps20250602_152324.jpgMy My, the wheels actually rotate & front end turns, I amazed myself! 20250602_145427.jpgPut a dab of red on the taillights20250602_152335.jpg
Door handle broke on me20250602_152709.jpgThink I have to lower the torsion bars!20250602_152736.jpgStarted a MY cars section, too bad these are 3 of the best, in the order I had them front to rear, the GTO was an even trade for the satty.20250602_152926.jpg
