Rusty's not very quiet cuda progress

Gonna start at 50K, need 42 or so to make back the 10K I lost on the first one, I may be dreaming but hey shoot for the stars!
Then I'll have a 20 or so year hobby that only cost me 4 million hours & a couple of pints of blood!

Sounds like a lot of money doesn't it? I miss the days of buying them cheap and keeping them that way.

Time to buy a sign.

OK, my towns car show is a week from saturday, lets hope it's not rained out again, would like to make one show before I decide to sell it.

So I gassed it up, did the milage, geeze it looks like 5 .3or4 MPG, again mostly local cruising & idling had that one short trip on the highway, but in traffic mostly.

It was never meant to be a gas mizer, it's a high performance pony car. On the highway you 'might' get 15 on a good day.

Trying to remember my stock 360 back in the 70's gas crisis & all was thinking 9 or 10 maybe 20 on the highway.
Did not expect it to be lie the 6cyc, charger but I thought better than 5?

As far as you think, it's an aftermarket cam. That in itself will use more gas.

I guess I should say it's not a problem, I think I did all the little cruises in the last 2 years on one tank, it's not like I'm taking a 50 state tour. Just didn't think it would be that low.
I gotta put it on my easy pass so I can get on the parkway & put some highway miles at speed on it.
My baby bucket list before I sell it or croak!

Yea, I made my first car show!
Not a lot of mopars, A dodge 2 door wagon form late 50early 60's won a 1st place. an astro something, I never even knew they existed, for too get some pics.
A late 60's plymouth with a straight 6, NOT restored a survivor
And this 71 chally, not an orig hemi, but hell it's a vert!
Talked to the guy a while, pretty young maybe late 20's or early 30's ( they all look young to me now) !

Z old chevy wagon.20260606_112638.jpgThat's the edge of the dodge thing on the right.

Plenty of mustangs, chevies of all models & some trucks & newer stuff, maybe 80ish in total.

Forgot to shoot my own car, it snuck in way at the edge of the first chally pic!

Glad to see you got it finished! Looks waaay different (better) than way back when me and the 340 bros stopped by to say hi. (y)

My lord it runs!!!
you have to travel to the 3rd & 5th dimensions to watch, this I can't figure why it's happening & can't rotate videos?

made it out of the drive way & around the block, then we put the hood on, he's driving it around to dump some of the garbage & needs to come back for a ton of tools he has out there! hope it makes it!
For a well used engine it sounded pretty smooth to me?

So guys I have a chance to get a 53 dodge power wagon with my friend mark for nothing, it would defiantly give me something to do, but & it's a big but do I really want to?
Tried looking them up & most had no prices, found one that sold for 31K.
It's not something I'm all that interested in.
In the mopar world is it something there is a market for?
At the moment I have NO idea what condition mechanically or rust wise it's in?

My favorite of all the Power Wagon series, military or civilian, are the M37 trucks. When I went to the Vintage Power Wagon Rally in Fairfield IA (mid-90's), I spotted a pair of them running around with 440's and 44" tires. With the huge size of the wheel arches on the M37, those 44's looked perfect on there. 🤩😎

Yes there's a market for them. No I can't imagine wanting to sock a bunch of money into something like that.

We are gonna take a look maybe this weekend, see what's there & how good or bad it is, the guy said he has been collecting parts for a few years?
The kicker will be if it's really free to haul away, it's all hearsay at the moment!
