Rusty's not very quiet cuda progress

After the 2 cars & now the jeep I think I've done about everything you guys mentioned, I still suck at welding.
Lets see, I've used por15, rustolium rusty metal primer, JB weld, epoxy primer & por putty over the welding.
Luckily most of that was underneath & in never to be seen places.

K, I may be living on the edge for a day next week, my son is having his car serviced around the corner & wants to take it to work, since I truly would like the car to at least be seen once in a while I'm gonna do it.
Took it out today, gassed it up & drove around for a half hour or so to be more certain the stalling crap is over.
Now I gotta give him a quick lesson on starting carbureted cars!

Forecast is 51 & cloudy, more worried bout rain & him fishtailing into a tree!
Guess my only concern is him getting a feel for how old cars drive, I will tell him absolutely NO burnouts & nailing it from a dead stop, I can not afford to blow a numbers engine!

I can't even have that much fun, When the price of a rebuild rose to almost 8 grand I figured I'd take my chances leaving it as it was, it was worked some time in the past, it had 30 over pistons, other than that I have no idea as to what else was done, I assume a cam, no milage, no service or work history.
All I can say was no metal in the pan when I cleaned up in there.
So the hardest I've pushed it was nailing it from a roll to test the kickdown & get my tiny little thrill!
Do that almost every time out.
He made me write up a sale paper, so I listed the main new parts, threw in a pic & put a price of 47,500 on it, see what his buddies at work say to that?

You gotta be careful putting a price on things. Sometimes they whip out the cash.

Been lucky all 3 of my boys have done well without adding too many gray hairs to my head.
Tomorrows the day, see how it hits me as my 'Cuda drives away?
the other one left on a trailer. I think He drove that one once around the hood (with me in it)

Well at least I know He made it to work, He called & asked how to get the key out, in his defense the sticker on the release lever is gone!

It's home!!! & in one piece, just the E-brake light was on, he must have just hit it enough to engage the light, no burnt up brakes.
Found this nut on the floor.......................20251112_173320.jpgNot the steering column, looks like the side dash nut that goes on the side stud by the door, but with the plastic cover on I can't see any way for it to come out?
Will crawl under tomorrow & check the column near the floor under the carpet?

If I understand what you're talking about, the steering column bolts to the firewall with bolts, not nuts.

That doesn't look like the nuts that hold the column up to the dashboard either.

Could be anything.

Looked around a bit today, checked the important stuff, gas pedal, brake pedal can't see any studs or hanging bolts with no nuts, trying to remember what the dash hold down nuts looked like, pretty sure they were studs into those lips under the windshield? (but smaller I think)
Colum at floor was bolts.
Nothing seems loose, guess I'll listen for new rattles next time I take it out, but with the ones already there I'll probably never know!
