ramp rebuild

oh WTF lemmy see

btw the front axle is "sorta" in...the driver side is hanging by its u-bolts...not tight but on and enuf gap to fight with the passenger side which doesnt want to line up

photos seem to be a shitbucket issue...since ALL of my pics on multiple forums have all gone poof atm...even OLD stuff

My pics are all missing as well.

BTW, have you seen the 440 12" flywheel for $150 on this page? http://www.mopartruckparts.com/group-11.html

hmm not till just now...but i can actualy re-use my 318 fly "if" i can find a matching bellhouse...due to my internal balance 440....course im having issues finding my bellhouse stash.....

btw if anyone knows where i can find a CHEEP industrail 440 ALUMINUM oil pan...id muchly be greatfull...i know for FACT they were used on all boats.....deep sump, aluminum that doesnt like to leak..industrial..sounds like a perfect mix on this truck......also on the hunt for cheep cal custom covers...or any dirt cheep cover at this point..if it aint a call ill shave em smooth

holy crap..i put a complaint into bucket and its suddenly fixed.....

rigs down on all 6, rough measurement is the front went up 6-10 inches between the new axle, slightly taller tires n wheels, thicker springs, spring lift from the no longer unhappy arch, etc etc...it actualy looks like a TRUCK and not some sad attempt at low ridering

so now the rear is looking like its sooooo overloaded its sad....tossed a jack in at the front of the rear axle and lifted 4 inches and its still easily 4 inches off from level....hopefully the new rear springs n perches will take care of that....besides the rear springs are FLAT when unloaded and unhappy face when loaded...again new springs are a full inch wider and 3 inches longer and if you add the thickness of the overloader springs you get "close" to the MH stock springs in overall pack thickness

pics later.....

even the u-bolts are massive by comparison....

after all the hardware i saved from the MH frame i came up 6 bolts shy for doing the front end...not bad at all...new hangers in and springs hung

did i mention the brakes are MASSIVE 2 piston monsters...a 16inch dually wheel WILL NOT clear them...and frankly i doubt a 16.5 would either and any more offset or a wider wheel of the 17.5s or aluminum versions would again likely hit the brakes.

im on the hunt for 1 of 3 things, front and rear hubs to goto 10lug, front and rear hubs to goto something more common, and lastly 19.5 wheels in any of the 3 patterns...and preferably WIDER than 6.5 so i can get a descent tire without costing a fortune..course they will likely be the only set of rubber i ever buy at that point

axle in n hung fully, and onto the sway/shock mount.....this i had a bit of issue with due to trying to get as neer factory location as i could ..which was futile....the end result is as close as i could get..and still too far away for the factory aprons ...so those will have to get modified as well and out they came...dues to the more outboard shock i will likely just make new fully flat units out of old ones..or find someone to punch me some louvers to vent heat

lastly fully down on all 6.....i did however in the later shots jack up the frame just in front of the rear axle till the springs were more natural in the rear...im quite pleased with the results ...but the rear is BEGGING to get done as well .....dragging that huge axle around wont be fun, and im hoping that the pinion splines didnt change or im in for a world of fun things to deal with since the MH has HUGE u-joints and drive shafts compared to the trucks weenie units...but i dont have enuf driveline from the MH to swap it all over..and im trying to do this as no cost as possible for now.......brake lines are the one thing i will be forced to buy so far, especialy with the front hoses being 4inchs short
