Dave,I used to pass thru there 3-4 times a month, got a cousin lives there,it is the worst traffic I've seen on the east side of the Miss. river, for such a piss ant city,it's worse than Jersey or NYC morning traffic,,at least they pretty much have the loop built around it now,,,It alway's was a dump 'til about 10-15 years back,Banks decided to make it home base, and it took off,a real Wall street type of biz atmosphere, lotsa' modern skyscraper type bldg.'s,like Banks, ins. co.'s,but alot of ghetto downtown,,I think you would like it there,if you commuted from the SC side of the line,,pretty expensive within an hour of the city, but lotsa' nice cheap land on the S.C. side, less a.m. traffic on I-77 south and alot more friendly folks on the SC side,,,taxes, tobacco, gas, beer, whiskey & dancin' girls are all cheaper on the SC side......in the winter it get's cold like here in November, and they get a few snowfalls/year,(it used to be warmer 15-20 years ago),plus they don't get very hot in the summer,at least not hot like a fla. / so.Ga. avg. summer, but quite warmer than you are used to,,,the best memories I have of charlotte, was when I passed thru there I knew it was only 10 hours to home, in fla. It really is a nice area once out of the city, the city is about 17 miles long from N to S. from the SC line to about exit 21 your out of it,E to W is much shorter, coming in from the Ga.,side, but traffic sucks all the way north for a long time, going out of the city at night and coming in in the a.m. is worse,,that's why the SC side is better for commuting.............Got a Job offer or something ?? Grab it,you won't be disappointed, and you only live once!
