Charger SRT 8

I just saw it on the Dodge website.

I don't care if it doesn't really look like a charger at all.

I don't care that it has 4 doors.

I guess it might better have been called the Dodge R/T.

I don't care.

425 Rear Wheel Horsepower

0-60 in 5 seconds

60 - 0 in 100 feet.

That's all I need to know! It looks good in black, and I wonder what will happen when someone puts a blower on that sucker. I am soooooooo getting one.

As the Human Torch would say:

FLAME ON!

Put a set of Magnums badges in the glove box for me to install later and sign me up for one.

As ugly as it is, there isn't much else out there to choose from.

You can take just about any foreign car off the list for me - and that's not just a patriotic stance - I can't think of one that really catches my eye.
And I'm talking the mainstream market here - not the likes of exotics and supercars. Although some of those could be stricken from my list as well.

90% of the foreign cars I would consider owning are lottery cars - the kind you buy after your numbers line up in a row and you've paid everything else off.

The new Charger is at least got some identity to it. You know it's a DCX product like you know a 300C is a DCX product. Does the styling excite me? No. It does look a little menacing, though.

I can't personally say that about any Toyota, Mazda, and most Hondas on the road. They just look the same to me. Nissan is about the only one that registers as identifiable - even then I have to look twice at some.

The Charger is going to be a success, despite all our griping. It's a good car with it's sights zeroed in on a specific market.

The marketing shmucks should all be shot for calling it a Charger though.

As much as I spouted off against this car in the past, I always suspected that it would be a good car.

I still don't like the name. Can I check the option for the MAGNUM badges on the order form. please?

Including the Daimler Charger?

DCX is no longer a domestic car maker - 100% German controlled....

Pretty much like buying a bargain Mercedes IMO.

Only because it has that ugly crosshair grille like everything else.

And to me the Charger looks like everything other 4-door out there except the front end. The taillights are generic and the 4-doors are the same. The grille is different but only because it's the crosshair that makes it look like a truck. How does the saying go? It looks like a Dakota rear-ended by a Buick?

Now there's something I can agree with.

Besides, I have a 69 Plymouth RR vert in the garage.

And the "whateveryouwantocallit" SRT 8 looks OK in my book. I think most of us would not have so many problems with it if it hadn't been called a Charger.

Besides, the nearest thing to it in performance and luxury is at least 20K more.

I just call it ugly. Doesn't matter what other name you put on it.

Hm - Krysler 300 would be the luxury performance model wouldn't it?

I thought the Chrysler was the rich guy's toys while Dodge builds the working man's car?
