mmmmyeesssss...got a pair of shorties I am tossing on tomorrow and think the only thing slowing me down is getting this Holley taken care of. Once that's working right, I can drive the damn thing!

...and then discover I need a million other things before driving safely :D

Heater box is already out. Already got a new heater core to toss in it, and will be doing all the gaskets as well. Just want to clean the firewall and under the dash where I pulled all the insulation so I can toss on some sound deadener and then slip the heater back in there. Sure as shit wish I could find a small piece of caulking strip. Damn wiper seal set came with two pieces that were about as stuck to the wax paper as a fat kid on cake. Dont know wtf I am going to do with sixty feet of that crap.
 
id recomend a mod for your wipers while they are out

you drill a small hole in the body of them and insert a grease zerk...it will cut your wiper leaks WAY WAY down

Done and done :) Fortunately for me, the seals even came with push in fittings! Amazing how much smoother those things turn now that I got some good grease in them. They tend to leak through the shafts?
 
Thought I could update this a smidgen. I've tossed sound deadener along the firewall and cowl, thus eliminating the stinky fiberglass stuff from the factory. Also covered the floor from the middle of the rear wheel well to the drop at the rear seat, but don't want to go further because welding is in the car's future for bracing as well as a 4-speed hump. I'm also testing out some SEM and VHT vinyl "dye" on the carpet. Carpet was blue and now I'm making it black...I really don't expect it to work completely, but a little cover on the blue is a good thing until I can buy new carpet after the hump swap. Ahah, also painted my driver's side inner door skin where it mates to the door panel, as well as the rear skins (sorry, no pictures of the rears even though they look better than the fronts), finished patching the rust on the trunk, filled some pinholes in the trunk floor, added weatherstripping and checked for leaks - NOTHING! WOO! I'm not gonna lie, I got lazy w/the epoxy over the rust spots...yes, I could have sanded it, but this won't be a show car and the weatherstripping covers most of the crap work. So long as it doesn't leak I am happy :)

TBH, I'm a bit impressed w/how good the spray stuff is working. Going to finish the front tomorrow and reinstall the seats and seat belts.
 
OH! And I forgot to mention the short tube headers I got on there. No, shorties aren't the best for performance, but they fit beautifully. Got the muffler guy to route the piping from the shorties on back by going above the steering linkage, rather than below. Haven't driven the car much, but no problems scraping yet and I don't anticipate any. hahah I even found the schrader valve for my gas shocks. Can't wait to get rid of them, but it's good to know I can stiffen it up from the slush that it was. Pictures will come soon to show to exhaust. He did a pretty good job on it.
 
We actually used spray PAINT on my friend's Mustang back in high school to change the color of the carpet. Yes, it was stiff, but we couldn't believe the durability. The SEM stuff is really good; I've never used the VHT.
 
Glad to hear some good results. I used the SEM in my Stealth to test durability on the center console where my arm rests and it's still looking great. I'm very impressed w/it..just bummed that it can only be found online.
 
Man, I wish. I was able to find it at a shop, but it's a thirty minute drive and five bucks more a can than if I ordered online. Blasphemy!

funny doc i did the EXACT same thing with PAINT on carpet door panels and dash pad in my cuda at one point...it held up to HS abuse lol...fact is the panels and headliner are still holding strong...yes even the rubbery material stretchy headliner..hid it with some rattle can black primer and its still stuck solid yet still flexable and that was all done in 92?3?4?
 
Yea,. and here I thought stuffing an RB under the hood of an A was enough...but no, there's never enough :D
