69 Barracuda FB. The next evolution

I did this yesterday (it's finished now)

People freak out about clamping it. If you clean the car and seal both with wax/grease remover, put glue on both parts, wipe it around, and press the seal down really good, it ain't going anywhere. Promise. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=steele+rubber+products+videos especially this one

Another freak out is OMG don't get it on the paint. It wipes right off with a little wax and grease remover.

I also wondered why are we still doing this the hard way? Me, I had a trunk seal I bought about 20 years ago for $15 IIRC, so that's my reason. Yesterday I realized you can get a good quality peel and stick seal for $80. That is the way unless you're going to judged competitions.

If my work doesn't stick, I won't waste my time with this tube of glue stuff again.

A bunch of parts arrived today (Sunday? Guess so.) However, the 3/8" fuel line kit arrived without the ferrule to AN fittings. That fuel line kit will have to get reordered once I can get Amazon customer service to reply.

With the fuel filters and bulkhead pass-through fittings here now, I was able to finish fitting the nutserts in the mounting brackets. I also drilled two holes for the pass-through fittings. I'll weld the mounting brackets in place tomorrow after the paint dries.

A couple friends stopped by today to help me get those stuck wheels off the car. We tried a bunch of things, a dead blow hammer, a bottle jack between the frame and wheel, heating the spindle with a propane torch to soften up the powder coat, even dropping the car off the floor jack onto the wheels (with the lugnuts on loosely) and the cranking the steering wheel back and forth. Nothing worked. As a last resort, I tried removing the spindle nut and outer bearing, unbolted the calipers from the spindles and then unbolted the soft lines. With the bolts out, I was able to barely slip the caliper around the spindle just enough to allow the whole wheel, rotor and caliper assembly off the spindle shaft. If the wheels were any smaller in diameter, I wouldn't have been able slip the caliper past the spindle cabore.

Tomorrow I'll bring the front wheels to a shop somewhere to get the wheels onto a press to get the rotors off of the wheel center bores.
