I have my 340 block at the machine shop. (Again)
They machined the deck and noticed some plugs in the deck which he assumed were coolant passages.
Is this normal? Or did someone do something strange?
I have not been at machine shop to look or take a pic.
Maybe next week I can swing out that way...

Honed the cylinders and installed new rings.
Went over the heads with a fine tooth comb.
I can burn 3 litres in 200 miles after the ring change.
