You can hate me if you want....

I got drunk and swallowed my teeth, now
....but I bought a "bunch" of FoMoCo stock back in late January. :giggedy:

I wouldn't be caught dead driving one of their cars though. :toot:

Why would we hate you? My dad bought some coca cola stock in about 1981. Do the math...

We picked some up at the end of November. Maybe could have waited a bit longer but oh well. Still making a few bucks :)

My Dad was left a bunch of Ford stock about 20 years ago. He thought several times of selling, but kind of liked the idea of owning stock in the company that built the cars he drove (the vast majority of anything he's owned has been Ford, closely followed by Chryco).
Maybe I should call him and check on my inheritance? :shifty:

I bought $50 worth of Cincinnati Milacron (a local company) for a penny a share. I saw it went up to a whopping 3 cents today!
When I was forced to sell my Chrysler stock last year, I got $34 a share. I wonder what it would be worth now if it was still out there.

If anyone has GM stock they don't seem to be bragging about it.

Predictions are a possible $7.50 in the next week or so. :giggedy:

I wish I had some money to invest... I'd call my uncle and get his ideas. He was a broker for almost 50 years. He convinced my Dad to buy oil-company stock during both '70s embargos, get Chrysler stock when it was about to be de-listed around 1980, and grab a piece of this new software company called Microsoft at its IPO. He also told Dad when the time had come to cash out on Chrysler and M$. After several splits on both, Dad made an absolute killing. Mom still holds the oil-company stocks.

My brother called him in '86 about investing his $3,000 enlistment bonus. Fifteen months later, Dave cashed out and bought a $16,000 Toyota pickup without financing a dime--and pocketed a couple grand.

The man is a financial wizard.

And here I sit, with nary a penny to invest and my uncle in his late 80s. Time is running out.

Doesn't take much Jass. Stock market is at near rock bottom atm. A couple hundred bucks gets you going and it just kind of snowballs as the market picks up. :) I'd talk to him anyway and get some ideas about a low cost initial investment like that and then wait 6 months or so and watch it climb.

Sounds like a smart financial move to me 68. :bravo: You gotta do what ya gotta do to make a little $$. I was thinking of scrapping together what I can and try to invest in some gold. I've been doing a little research into that before I plunk down any money though.

Just in case anyone's interested, we bought some stocks in Oshkosh (OSK) and Suntech Power (STP) as well. Both have had double digit gains since we got them in November and consensus is they'll continue to climb. :)

Disclaimer: I'm not a really stock savvy guy. Just did several weeks of research and picked these with some sort of informed opinion :p
