Critics call it the answer to a question nobody asked; test drivers call it more responsive at low speeds than the normal V6. It’s a turbocharged, hybrid-electric, four-cylinder Wrangler, engineered for both a better driving experience and higher fuel economy; and if you want it, you’ll have to wait a while.
The engine’s primary goal is probably fuel economy, and stopping FCA’s need to pay for EPA credits (even if fuel economy requirements don’t increase).
