According to Scott Gaberding, FCA’s current quality maven, FCA has been making progress. He claimed that J.D. Power had cut warranty problems by 16%, and reducing warranty costs per vehicle by 11%, at a talk covered by Automotive News.
Gaberding, who worked his way up through the manufacturing function, was put in charge of quality last year. He said that FCA was currently trying to make improvements on the shop floor within 24 hours of receiving customer feedback.
