Around 700 Chrysler dealers are now using the wireless wiAdvisor system to register customers’ cars, with more dealers coming on-line as time goes on, according to Mopar chief Pietro Gorlier.
The system requires a service advisor to plug a sending unit into the car’s OBDII plug, which is under the dashboard near the parking brake and/or hood release. From that point, the advisor can see the car’s service history, and the VIN, miles, and other information are automatically put into the dealer database and sent to Chrysler.
This reduces errors, increases the speed of servicing, and can provide dealers with instant information on the car’s history and its current status. It works with the main dealership management systems.For … (full article) Read the rest...
