I think most of the people over there are actually pretty good folks. The assholes just tend to be the loudest. There is a small handfull of people who just simply cannot abide someone having an opinion that differs from their own - and they make a very big fuss about it.

I'll keep that in mind. :D And yeah, there are certainly a few opinionated assholes over there, but of course there are many decent people too. Actually met one mod (who is now an ex-mod) that turned out to be pretty cool, despite his "online persona". I even met onebadsuperbird:shifty:
 
I kept the PM OneBadSuperbird sent me shortly before he was (justly) expelled from the place to remind myself what a damaged individual he is. I don't think I have ever read that much bile in a couple paragraphs before or since.... a definite example of napoleon syndrome....

Good riddance.
 
He was definitely um...different. I saw him a couple years ago on Woodward but he either didn't recognize me or chose to ignore me. I was fine with that.
 
I knowed some of those Moparts guys before there was a Moparts. :D A fair number of them used to be my co-workers.
 
I've looked off and on over the years in a vain attempt to find a copy of the smackdown I put on one asshat over there. I forget his name, but he was SO condescending and SO wrong about just about every technical point he tried to make. Of all things, he was bashing the toyota supra. It's a mopar forum, but goddamn, have at least SOME idea of what you're talking about. Nope, not him. When he pointed out that they must have spent a fortune converting this one particular fast supra to rwd I lost all restraint. I hammered him until there was just nothing left. I think they deleted the thread, and I wish I'd had the foresight to copy and paste it before it disappeared. Shortly after that I quit the place due to heavyhanded moderation.
 
No, that wasn't his handle. Damned if I can remember what it was, but it wasn't that.
 
I didn't think it was, but it sounds similar enough. Unlike you, though, I did copy/paste/save my final response to him. It was up just long enough for him to commit "board suicide" and never be heard from again. I took it down voluntarily, though. It was that harsh. He was a real douche, though.

I had the pleasure of reading that post before Jass pulled it. I'll never forget the "Oh My! Um WOW!" thoughts I had as I read it.

I too have the pleasure of spending quality time with NADA, 68RT, Beeper, V8440, Jass , Oven mitt, Mopar man, Fish boy, 69.5 cuda and so many more. All are awesome folks. All are not exactly what my minds eye had pictured.

I too think it would be awesome to get together with a bunch of fellow nuts. There are a few that are high on the list of people I'd like to meet. Cow for 1. Duster gal. for sure. Silent dippy, oh hell yah. Xl, who wouldn't? :D
 
XL? I've heard of him before. Some sort of ancient, mythical creature, possibly related to the goddess Euryale, whose scream could kill.
