Wallet VIN decoder cards?

Those of you who've been around for a while will remember these. I used to make two-sided VIN decoder cards that were laminated and about the size of a credit card. One side was 1968/1969 VINs, the other was 1970 through 1974. I actually used to sell them on eBay years back and sold hundreds of them. They're pretty handy for car shows, junkyards, looking at a new project, or just checking something you saw in someone's back field. I would bet a couple of board members still have theirs from years ago. These go back to the ScatPack.com era, they've been around so long. Speaking of which, does anyone actually still have an original ScatPack-logo card? I never kept a single one of these for myself.

I stumbled across the artwork looking for something else. I was thinking about running a new batch of them, if there's sufficient interest.

This is what I'm talking about. This is the original version with the ScatPack.com logo from years ago; I still have the artwork for those I sold on eBay as well as the later version with a Moparnuts web address which is slightly different. Obviously, the finished product is far more legible than these shrunken images.

I need to get an idea of whether it's worth my time to run off several of these since I'll need supplies. The higher the demand, the lower the price... it's as simple as that.

Cool!

Depending on cost, I'd take a bunch to hand out at shows to promote the site.

I've got a printing connection that I can try and leverage for ya. I'll send him these little pics and see what he thinks. Tons of different options - and he needs to test some new equipment. :)

I've been trying to dig up the artwork we used for the T-Shirts with no luck.
I just have a small version of it that's useless for printing.
Maybe I'll work on recreating it this week.

It's on a standard business card. The lamination adds the extra size to it. In the past, I've just used business-card stock bought locally and had them laminated locally. If you'd like, I can modify it with Moparnuts-specific artwork. The current Moparnuts version has the web address in large, clear, lettering but it's not like the banner or anything.

I can e-mail you a larger, very-clear pic. I just need your e-mail address.

The VIN on the card is the VIN of my '73 Charger Rallye 340. I still have the VIN tag, data plate, and the title, so it didn't bother me to put that out there. :D

just a thought here.. but if you were gonna use it with the site name.. couldnt you put the site name where the vin would go? just an idea.. and keep it in the same font type

Still got my ScatPack one. About 9 years now. :giggedy:

I'm surprised that it hasn't worn out from all the use. :hmmm:

That's a very cool idea. I'd take a few as well, got a few friends who'd appreciate one of those.
