Not A Duster

The new album by the latest version of Wolfmother was released on Friday. Listening to it now.

So far it seems to be exactly what one would expect. Whether that's a good or bad thing I guess depends on the listener.

Well, I am - was ......

I'm not sure about this tho. I like an artist's work to be recognizable..... but perhaps not quite so derivative of their earlier stuff.

Sounds nit-picky I know.

No, I get it. It can still be recognizable and distinct without sounding like a replay of something you already own. I only own a couple of Iron Maiden albums, which are my favorites due to their place at a time in my life, but to own the whole catalog doesn't seem necessary. On the other hand, I have almost everything Megadeth has ever put to CD. Then we've got Metallica, who fell off a cliff on the edge of suck on which they were teetering with their eponymous 1992 album. "Load" was atrocious, and everything since has been worse. Gimme foo, gimme fie, gimme abba-jabba-jie and all that. Still distinctly Metallica, and so awful as to be unlistenable for a once-huge, ground-they-walk-on type fan.

im actualy a fan sooo ill have to check it
