No Reserve: 302-Powered 1949 Ford 8N Tractor

When I read it came with mufflers I imagined tooling this around the neighborhood terrorizing the kids on golf carts.

I'm undecided if it would be terrifying to drive or if it's heavy enough and geared such that it wouldn't want to flip over backward every time you punched it. I'm pretty sure the standard tractor engine is around 20 HP.

It looks like a standard 2bbl Ford carb.

black out the valve covers and lose the chrome wire looms and paint match the trans adaptor and i think it looks great

i see sooooooo many of these used as "yard art" it just makes me sad .....so one tastefully hotrodded..or even used n abused but working is a pleasant sight

i do prefer them in battleship grey and red tho

There's a common area near here for the village. Last weekend it was used for OK to beer fest (Oktoberfest), but at least twice a year I'll drive by and there will be a tractor and hit-and-miss engine show going on.

The thing is probably way too powerful to use as a tractor, and unsafe for road use, so the show circuit seems like all it's good for.

I love the tractor, but the more modern V8 just doesn't suit it...I think it detracts from the overall esthetics of the machine. I think an old V8 Flathead or more period correct V8, maybe a Buick Nailhead would suit it better. But at least it doesn't have a Fram filter on it! 😄

"Au contraire Pierre", Many chuckles can be had by taking it on back roads and doing hole shots. :p
That honeymoon would be over very quickly. 40MPH would be terrifying on an old tractor, ignoring the tires completely.
