The protests at the Ambassador Bridge connecting Canada and the United States are having an effect on auto production. Toyota, Ford and General Motors have announced a reduction in their operations due to supply chain problems related to the blocking of traffic across the Detroit-Windsor bridge.

All this could have been resolved if our pussy of a Prime Minister would actually talk to the people of Canada. His conversations with other leaders in the world , he says to talk issues thru. He doesn't listen to his own words. He is heavily invested in Physor and Mederna and that's why he has ordered 400,000,000 doses for a country of 38,000,000 which includes children as well. Who's humping who?

Have to disagree with you there...the people upset and protesting are a small minority of the population and I don't appreciate the assumption that the majority of Canadians are supportive of them and their actions. And I'd say that the majority of Canadians are happy with the vaccine response.

the media has screwed this one up and aimed it as "truckers" when in reality its a minority of dickheads who happen to own trucks and be stopping OTHER uninvolved truckers

digging down into the truth of it is a clusterfuckery...im with cow here, hell ive got family on that side of the border

Exactly. This seems like it was never about truckers, but more about a bunch of chucklefucks who also happened to be truckers. It may have started as a trucker thing, but it stopped being about that almost immediately, in my opinion.

Most of the protestors right now are not even showing up in commercial trucks.

I don’t know what the media in US is doing, but I wouldn’t blame the media here.
All of this started with the organisers creating trucker convoy social media groups to rally support, and creating fund raising campaigns using language that indicated it was all about truckers.

90% of the truckers in Canada are still on the job.
The long lines of trucks that you see on the news are the truckers trying to do their jobs and are being prevented or delayed by the chucklefucks.

There is an interesting article that points to a marketing firm in Bangladesh that is behind some of the online campaigns.

And whether you hate Trudeau or not, he’s done the appropriate things so far. No PM, regardless of their party, would allow themselves to be beholden to any kind of mob. That would be fucking idiocy on their part. They don’t have any kind of new information that the government doesn’t already understand. There’s no reason to converse about the issue.
The reality is that the chucklefucks co-opted an idea.

Admittedly, there was a lot of “not my job” going on between the different levels of government - and also the fact that government does not direct law enforcement action - because of the question of “Is this a City of Ottawa problem, a Province of Ontario problem, or a federal problem?
With things expanding beyond the City of Ottawa, it’s a much clearer jurisdiction and we are seeing the appropriate level of engagement. Unfortunately, it’s even necessary.

The trucks have left the Ambassador bridge, but there are still protestors that say they refuse to leave. It’s not about trucks.
A convoy is headed to Fort Erie and the provincial police are taking steps to stop them from reaching the border. There are some commercial trucks, but most are personal vehicles.

Also, there is a lot of the same activity on the US side of the border.

Anyway, as to the original issue, if Canada lifted the Canadian mandate for vaccination for truckers crossing the border, those truckers would just get stopped at the US border. BECAUSE THE US HAS THE SAME RULE IN PLACE AND WE CAN‘T CHANGE THAT.

Meanwhile, these convoys crossed Canada and arrived in Ottawa without issue.

The few times that I’ve been out recently, I’ve seen a lot of commercial trucks just doing their job.

In one case I even saw a few passing a lone pick-up truck flying a F*ck Trudeau flag and ignoring the honks and light flashing.

CBC just showed an interview with one of the protesters in Windsor.

I am paraphrasing but he said, “This is not about mandates and vaccinations. This started long before the pandemic. It about state over reach.”

He didn’t say about what though.

This is the end of my comments on this matter. Research Dr Paul Alexander and his stance on the vaccines and then make your choice about mandates. I'm out of this. Let true science make the decisions not big Pharma.

Stay safe. I hope that you or anyone you love get sick and die.
EDIT: this was supposed to say do not get sick and die.
The Stay safe part should have made that clear but I own that typo.

All of this is a slap in the face to health care workers and family of dead loved ones.

If this is truly about the pandemic, the protesters are trying to wish the problem away.
There are still hot spots in all parts of the world that need to address rising numbers of cases, hospitalisation and death.
They just shout, ”Don’t tell us what to do!” and then bitch about the government not doing enough when everything goes to shit.

The pandemic is a health crisis. It should have never been politicised. The first shout of “Freeberty!” made it political. So, here we are.

Anyway, support truckers. They are important.
I am happy when I see a bunch of them on the highway doing their job.
I get angry when I see the few that are involved with the illegal activity associated with the protests.

Most of the people involved in the protests are not truckers.
Some don’t even give a shit about the vaccine mandates.

Its not about truckers.

My sister in law is a RN and she was telling us that every patient that is in our local hospital with Covid is anti-mask, anti-vax, anti---whatever. But what truly shows the hypocrisy of these individuals is when there is nothing more the medical professionals can do for them she says every single one of them has asked for the vaccine!

I have a lot of friends in the medical profession that have said if not for the vaccine mandate threatening their lively hood and info they know, they would not have gotten the vaccine.

Dave, you and I have met several times over the years thru Moparnuts and and some of the big meets. I thought you were a pretty good guy. But when you wish death on me and my family, I think that is very threatening and as the Administrator of this site I want you to remove my registration from the site as I can no longer support the way you have done this. To all the other Nuts be safe. Goodbye.

ah damn. That’s a typo. Honestly.
that should have said “do not.”

I apologise for the mistake.

I have edited the post to say as much, but left the typo in for clarity and accountability.
