Total impulse buy..

V-2 :gaga:

As cheesy as I felt buying it, I'm pretty pleased with it so far. I finally got it in tune and it's holding pretty well. I do need to set the action again though.

On a side note: it seems I should go in to the guitar selling biz..

or at least accessories.

We went out to the Casino Saturday night and after dinner walked through one of the stores in the galleria - Fans I think it's called - lots of trinkets, sports memorabilia, stuff like that.. they carry guitars and supplies and accessories now too.

So, I'm eye-balling this guitar stand that holds 3 guitars and there's no price. My wife picks it up and goes and asks the counterperson..... $11.95

We'll take it.

They have trouble finding it in the computer but say, Sorry, this one is actually $12.95"

Me: Ah that's okay, It's only a buck..

The best price I've been able to find for the same stand is $52 and it's in Alaska.
Regular price is $80.

Which is how much we fed in to the slots in less than 10 minutes.

Careful. The general consensus on pawn shops and guitars are that they are not a good match. Most don't know what they're doing and price their guitars out of sight of the real value.
Bottom line: you need to really know what you're looking at and really know your prices in order to know if you're getting a good deal or not.
Yeah I saw a Yamaha Acoustic/Electric in a pawn shop up here and the guy wanted $700 for it!! I told him it was only worth about $350 and had a magazine at home to prove it..... exact same model even! Well he got all huffy and said if I wanted it then I could go buy it somewhere else then... a week or so later I went back in with the mag (Musician's Friend) and showed him the retail price which was $350 but the MF price was about $200 or something. He kicked me out of his shop again. Never been back since.
