Fiat Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionnetalked about a wide variety of topics at theUAW contract opening ceremonies.
In spite of the efforts of the city’s government and the decision to stick with steel for the next-generation Jeep Wrangler, Marchionne isn’t ready to commit to keeping production in Toledo.“…You need to be very careful about… thinking that just because we decided to go steel that it makes the decision to stay in Toledo sort of obvious.”
Among the challenges is the need to keep production going while expanding capacity; he saidthat even a 60-day shutdown for retooling would be very costly.
