Rams and Dodge Charger police cars with 220 amp alternators are being recalled, in a story first broken by Canadian networkCTV.
The recall covers 10,000 pickups (20132500, 2007-14 Ram 3500, 2008-2013 Ram 4500 and 5500), along with 2011-14 Dodge Charger police cars — around 100,000 vehicles all told. The diodes may wear out early after frequent load cycling, at or near peak capacity, in hot temperatures. This increases the potential for stalls or fires;
