well ill let the pics speak for themselves...the car looks MUCH MUCH larger on the ground...with a lil over 7 inches of ground clearance the rain gutters will be sitting at 49 inches high...the tops of the fenders at 34inches....boy its going to hurt to get in and out of with my 6foot+ body ROFL

obviously its going to need a front rolled pan since the 3 inch one thats on there now is WAY to small to even notice its there...rear was already going to be getting a 6-8 inch rolled pan..guess i carry that to the nose as well

forgot i had an old cherry picker laying around that the ram had died..just so happens to be a big enuf base with casters and only sits 7 inches off the ground...100% perfect for moveing it around

Maybe it's the tan doors on the grey body but pic 4 from the left just SCREAMS Woody! :D Looks mean with those tires under it too! [smilie=f:

the tires are 22.5 8.0 14 goodyear bluestreaks...may become drag tires at a later date but they suit the higth testing that i needed..i had em and theve NEVER been mounted...i only wish i could mount that wide of tires under the rear...that tire is hitting the inner edge of the inner fender...the rear wells are TINY..i could go even wider up front lol thers lots of room in the wells

yes belive me i see the woody wagon merc look..saw it the day i brought it home...but i aint adding no wood to it

been a bit cold outside ..soo works been slow..did get a warm snap and layed primer over everything again ..and the fenders are looking premo..reshaped the curve below the headlight rings to make it a bit more prominent..still need a light finish skim of filler on the fenders but overall there good to go..atleast till the grill starts cutting into them

wife sayed strip and shave..the doors so i did..mind you im retaining all of the stock aluminum trim ..just loseing all the extra stuff like door handles

on a side note..these doors are sooooo narrow that i cannot convert the doors to a single piece of glass as theer would be no room for the wing window section to go down..on top of that NO ONE makes any type of seal that even comes close to the rock hard and broken originals soooo the wing windows are being taken out and then solid mounted back in meaning they wont open...not what i had planed but it means the dash can bee deeper

ROFL well uhh the rims are probably going to be mismatched...being the odds of a mustang 2 front end is becomeing a probability and the rear end will be minivan...sooo babymoons should make nice work of it...conmsidering i dont think theres a rim on the planet that would look good under it anyway

proly going to be 4lug up front and 5 out back with fwd offsets all around

been in a lul of un-creativity...gutted my parts minivan..cypherd thru its wireing figureing out what chunks must be saved..started on the dash frame(very 58 ford with its own "oddness")...grill is STILL fighting me...going to have to make a trip to allamircan and roll my hands across some fine old ladys and get a feel for some classic lines....ive got half a mind to take a 60s volvo hood for the bull nose and graft it on

anyway got a bit o work done today...the rear door window will now slide up and down instead of being "fixed" ...sure i need to figure out the motor mechanics but they will probably be minivan as the minivan ones are plentifull and EXTREAMLY compact....the slide rails in the window are cut from a 69 dodge van door and trimed to fit...weatherstriping will be plentifull since it was used on all dodge trucks and vans from 1960-1980 or so...glass is currently plexi as i had it laying around and it allowed me to not only make the traks fit the size glass i want but also i can take it in to a glass shop and say here make this

yes ive got alot of cleanup to do on that rear door but its comeing around..also the rear door will be "backwards" compared to most thinkings ..the door will get a pin and the latch will be on the body.....theres no room for a latch in the door...or a handle or key for that matter

on a side note now that im aware of whats going on with how to make a slideable window...doing the windshield will be MUCH easyer..just need to get my hands on some slide rails from a 60-70 dodge truck/van

Looking good! Looks like all those project ideas you've been talking about over the years are finally seeing life. Outta be a great summer machine!!

everyone always says "nothing like the wind in your face" on a motorcycle..well who says it can be the same fealing in a car...bonus....NO HELEMET needed LOL...leats if it starts raining i can put the windows up...and i dont have to worry about a convertable top and all there "issues"

yes every design idea ive ever had is either going onto this lil car or that 70 minitruck

well heres you guys a shot that realy puts this lil car into its true size...523 5spd courtesy of you guys here on nuts..and the 2.5 turbo from my parts minivan....its going to be a tight fit but i already knew that

now that its in on the floor i can start figureing out its mounting and everything..anyone got any sugjestions or hints on axle alignment as well as the new strut mounts and there alignment SPEAK UP!!!

well i had to cut a bit more than i wanted to out..but ill put some more caged in stuff in the back to make up for it...its "TIGHT" in there thats for sure..and unless i dont mind moveing the rear side to side cross member im going to have to find someone who can give me some flow #s on the stock water pump so i can relocate it....once relocated i have all the room in need to align the axles

if i had to do it again...i would but i would have started with building a full tube steel chassis

IMO moving the cross-brace is better than fabbing a remote water pump. Trying to eliminate one headache may create a bigger one, plus the fact that someday, the pump may need to be replaced.
You've already got the stock belt vs finding one to fit a non-pump application.

are remote waterpumps not that durable?..the bolt on of the waterpump is stupidly simple and to make a nippled block for the blot where it used to be would be about as simple as replaceing a stock thermostat houseing on any V8...i unbolted it lastnight to see how hard it would be lol

I haven't heard anything, one way or the other, on the longevity of remote water pumps.
Your main objectives should be time & cost. The time to fab and connect a remote pump would be similar to relocating the crossbrace. The cost of the relocation is minimal. With a remote you would most likely need to buy a pump.

well i figured i best post a lil something lol....that 99cent alfa has a full WORKING front suspension and brakes..and the size diference between it and the lloyd i belive i can take up without much issue..going to be tight none the less and im going to have to find me a set of coilovers cause i dont want to fuss with the torsion bars...besides..the alfa front ends were made to handle coilovers with next to no modifications just unbolt the torsions and bolt in the coilovers...wich should prove usefull since i need to have some adjustability cause god knows its going to take a few trys to get the right springs under it...that alfa corpse also gave me the best pedal box i could have asked for since its all self contained on an alfa..it will be a matter of cutting a spot for it and bolting it in..and as a bonus most brake and clutch MC's fit it..and its made out of aluminum....that minivan corpse ive about cut the front suspension out of for the lloyds rear end but am haveing some second thoughts about the design that i need to mow over a bit..as i had some intresting thoughts that may prove more usefull as well as lighter...ive got a line on some extreamly cheep older shelby mopar stuff...might be cool to do up the gut as a shelby mopar matched with a shelby valvecover and some other bit's...

anyway its to F-ing cold to heat the shop and i cant stay focused at these kind of temps's soooo once the weather comes back around im hopeing to dig back in where i left off..nose work or the power windshield
