These exclusive photos show parts of the upgraded Pentastar V6 debuting in 2016 on the Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Another upgrade is expected eventually, adding in direct injection. Eventually, a forced induction Pentastar V6 is likely to be added to the lineupasDodge matches Alfa Romeo’s new rear wheel drive series, which does not have room for large V8s.
Some have complained that the engine does not add enough power, but the emphasis in this version was increased fuel economy and reliability. The engine has numerous upgrades to raise efficiency and low-end torque; the peak horsepower gain is almost gratuitous.
