The Nova.

Well, a few parts have been acquired. I have the original pair of fenders that were on the Valiant I sold my brother, he fixed the one that had been bent up, both are primed and pretty much ready for install, though he did hang on to the reflectors. He picked up a set of '74 Duster NOS versions he plans on modifying for his car. I have a pair of headlight bezels and turn signal lights with fair lenses, just need a grille now Doc. I also got his upper and lower control arms along with the slanty K frame from his car.

Time to get the newer stuff finished up so I can get this back into garage..

Fortuitously enough, I actually have a box or two large enough to ship that thing. Has your address changed, or are you still in NRH?

I think I have a couple of other items that might belong to you but need a reminder. I know you got the wheels, air cleaner and camshaft. Did you get rocker arms? I can't remember anything else. If you've still got that cam I'll happily buy it back. 😆

As a matter of fact I do still have that cam, still in the box, on the shelf. As of late I've only had '88 and newer LA and and a few Magnum engines and a Teksid block DOHC Ford mod motor. The only other thing that you were holding for me were the adjustable rocker arms. I'd be more than willing to help you out with that camshaft. :D

I'm still in the same place in NRH.

You shoot me a number on the cam & lifters with shipping, and I'll send you a box o' rockers with a check in it.

As far as the grille... got any ideas? Based on recent experience, UPS is gonna be murder on that thing even though it weighs nothing. UPS wanted $87 to ship a Six Pack air cleaner about the same distance, which was 18lbs packed and nowhere near oversize. That guy went to Fastenal and got everything arranged, then e-mailed me a label. I think he said it cost him $33. They won't insure anything not in a wooden crate, though, and I've also priced lumber lately. Sheesh!

Oh, there's one other problem with the grille. There are currently mourning doves nesting in it. 😆

I can check with Fastenal tomorrow on the shipping.

Without the cam, let alone an LA motor to put them in, you hang on to the rockers at best they'd be shelf adornments down here. As far as the cam, I just pulled it off the shelf and other than a few more years of dust on the box, it's just as I received it. I believe I paid $140 shipped and that sounds fair to me.

No rush on sending the grille, let the mourning doves rear their young before boxing it up. :)

Lumber is stupidly priced at present. I have a stack of pallets I planned on taking out to burn, but I think I'll hang on to them a little longer.

Still haven't had a chance (when it comes to mind like Sunday mornings and evenings) to contact Fastenal, but it's on my to do list.

Go to the fastenal site and request a quote. I did it when I was thinking of shipping an engine recently, but don't remember the details. It only took a few minutes to request but there's a man in the loop so it takes a day or so before they reply with a formal quote and you have N days to use it.

FWIW not all fastenal sites participate in the shipping program but the site tells you which do.

Fastenal gave me a price of $202. NO! I plugged the same rough dimensions into FedEx and it was about $75.
Youch. That's surprising to me, considering how much cheaper they were on that air cleaner. Let me figure out which box to use for it and I'll get hard dimensions and a weight.

I looked at another, really nice '69 Valiant grille on Saturday at a fella' house. He wanted $250 with turn signals but no headlamp bezels. I said, "I don't love the car that much." I didn't think you did either.
