What a mess!

I bought this engine from a guy a few years ago. It was suposidly rebuilt and a spair racecare engine. I never even thought to try and turn it over. He did give me all my money back and let me keep the headers and the engine for my trouble. Nice of him to do that in the end even if he did try and hose me. i'm not saying he did try to but I should have looked closer at it.


I wish I could find the pictures of the lifter valley when I pulled the intake. It was packed SOLID with mouse nest. I pulled the entake to sell to a buddy, it was an edelbrock dule plane I think. Jake said when he got it home and cleaned it up it was rotted through.




Last night I tore it down while drinking beers. As it turns out it's only a three beer job to pull it down to the short block.:wtf:

My harmonic balancer puller was at work so this was as far as I got.

Looks like thats only a three beer job. We will see how many we add tonight. Assuming I'm smart enough to grab my harmonic balancer puller befor I leave work today.

There's a fair amount of carbon for new parts.

I thought it might be because of the way the front lobs on the cam looked. It has been run but who knows for how long. It has stock pistons in it. The only ring ridge is carbon and you can see crosshatch but we all know how hard mopar blocks are.

I have torn down ALOT of engines and I have NEVER had to beat the crank out of the block with a 4lb hammer!
