The Diner

..... it got to the point where the same guys got there early and got the same spots and every week was exactly the same thing. It was like ground hog day.

With 4 cars and a few different bikes to choose from I rarely show up in the same vehicle twice all summer. When I meet someone that knows me they ask, "What'd ya bring this time?" :D

That looks like a show I would dig far more than the usual "parking lot on the fairgrounds" fare. One of the things I like about the nearest good-size shows (Escanaba's Fun Run and the St. Ignace show, which is huge) is that they have cruises. The St. Ignace thing is actually done totally on the city streets, which I'm sure boosts local revenue far more than a fairground event like Esky's. At night the cars start to cruise. Esky has a parade on Friday night with a cruise after, and it's always better to see the beasts in their natural environment: the street. The Esky fairground show I've generally ignored.

I agree Doc. That PoCo show I went to, and posted up pics last week, is like that. The $25 per-registration gets you a Saturday night cruise, and free burger/fries and drink. Then that same $25 gets you into the show on Sunday with all the free schwag...Tee shirt and tons of coupons for local businesses, and another free meal...Pancake breakfast. The show is put on by the local business association....and is in the downtown core, so the local businesses get a lot of exposure. This was my first year going to it, and I loved it!

I love the '60 Fury! There is a black one near here that I would love to get my hands on. It's been sitting in the same spot for years now.
