The Diner

Not A Duster

Diner in a small town just the road from us puts on a yearly car event. This is the first year I attended. Nice event with a good selection of cars, live band and no participation fee. It was a bit cool & windy toward the end of the day, but that just means I didn't sunstroke myself for a change.

Owned by the same people as the badly cloned Superbird and the Warlock next to it, this is cool in too many ways. Recent barn find, they claim it's one of 57....

I also owned one of these in the past. Not an SS, it did however feature the 300 horse 350 and a powerglide. It was originally my Uncle's car.

There was a bunch of other stuff - a really clean '69 GTO Judge and so on, but not sure how much interest there is for that stuff here....

Judging by glimpses of other vehicles in the background, there looked to be a wide variety present. That always makes for a better show.

A little research shows the numbers for that Duster, "414 built in this color for the U.S. 57 built for canada.":hmmm:

It's like everything else, if you search just right you can juggle the figures any way you want.

Yeah.... Makes sense - and doesn't surprise me.

Kinda wish the whole production numbers information didn't exist at all. Hobby would be a whole lot cooler that way....

There was a guy there with an unrestored Lincoln convertible that's in near perfect shape. He didn't let that frighten him from driving it to the show...

It was a great day. I'm starting to prefer these small town deals over the bigger city events. Much more laid back, and about having fun.

Very cool cars...I do love me a Demon! I'm not a convertible fan...but that 68 Imp 'vert is pretty sweet!

I tend to enjoy the mixed shows more as well. You just get tired of looking at just another mopar...in a slightly different color or option list. It's great if you can go to these open shows with friends that are either GM, Ford or other make lovers...I have a couple I go with. I learn all kinds of interesting facts about the other makers...and they learn stuff from me as well.

Agreed. I've even given up on the cruise-ins that have you park in a mall parking lot. It was fun for a while, but it got to the point where the same guys got there early and got the same spots and every week was exactly the same thing. It was like ground hog day.
Still all for fun and talking with the folks is nice. I just don't sweat it if I can't get into the cruise-in parking and have to park in the regular mall parking.
