The classic potato

My guess is that over time, a lot of tater recipes are going to end up here, so I'll start with the classic single-guy simple potato:

You need a potato.
Cut it into sections; I usually go half lengthwise and cut crosswise in about ¼" sections from there.
Set sections in foil.
Sprinkle in some seasoned salt and a generous amount of garlic salt.
Add diced onion; I use a couple of tablespoons of red onion but sweet, yellow, or white would work.
Parsley flakes if you like a little color and the tinge of parsley.
Slather some butter in there (don't be shy), and close up the foil. Make sure the butter won't leak out of the foil.
Bake at 350 for about 45-50 minutes.

I've played around adding other spices, depending on what I will be serving with it, but this is the standard for me.

I also have a wicked Southwest Twice-Baked recipe I invented several years back that I'll post when I find it. It's a lot more involved, though.

Mmmmmm......I haven't been a big potatoe eatter since I lived with my parents...prefer rice but that sounds Yummy.

Sure there will be a few I will have to try...since I do most of the cooking here at home.:wtf:

In place of the butter you can use virgin olive oil and also add some sliced mushrooms. Do them on the barbeque is nice to go with a mouthwatering steak.

Here are a couple recipes that go quick in our house:

These are gluten-free and dairy-free

1. Chicken nuggets

slice up bite size chicken, roll them in corn flour and deepfry. After they're done sprinkle little salt. These are the best tasting nuggets in my opinion.

2. p-nut butter cookies

1 cup of p-nut butter, 1 cup of sugar, 2 eggs, and Gluten-free/dairy-free chocolate chips. Bake at 350 degrees for 12-14 minutes. Very quick and yummy.

3. homemade peanutbutter

Put in a blender: 1 cup of roasted p.nuts, 2 tblsp of oil (peanut oil preferably, but others will work) add little salt if the p.nuts are not already salted. Blend until desired consistancy. This tastes just like 'Adam's Natural' peanutbutter. Very cheap to make if you can buy p.nuts in bulk amounts.
