Some new pics of my Charger

Stretch

Hey! There’s no easy button for a body like this!
I took these about a month ago. Let me know what you think...Charger front with out front spoiler.jpgCharger front with spolier.jpgcharger resize six sky view.jpgresize charger left side long.jpgstretch charger closeup with pump.jpgstretch charger tail with pump.jpgresize charger spiler right side 1.jpgcharger resize six sky view.jpg

Jesus I like that car! :)

So much so that I grabbed one of the pics for my background.

Did you end up keeping the chin spoiler on?

Great pics!

No. It's still not on it. I think I had it mounted too far back so the angle was off and I also didn't have the center of it stright across the front of the car. I'm pretty sure thats why I'm on the fence about it. Now that I have the roof on my garage I might have some free time again and try placing it with 3m tape too see where and if I like it.

Restoman. Thanks for the complement! What pic did you grab? My fav. is the one with the rear quarter extention and the fuel pump, Then the one I like to call the "rabbit's eye view".

Only $.40 a gallon. How old does that make them 68RT.

Well, the 1st time I remember it passing the $.40 mark was during the OPEC embargo in late '73. Prior to then it hovered around $.32 - $.35 a gallon. Within 3 months prices went from $.34 up to $.86. People were taking $500 trade-ins for 1 year old Caddies to buy a VW. Muscle cars were a dirty word because of MPG's, plus insurance companies got greedy. I bought a '69 Runner for $100, a '70 Chally for $300, bought my R/T 'vert for $350. And drove them all home. VW's & AMC's were the hot items to have.

Forty cents per gallon was only seen once, for a very short time. Probably in November of '73. By Jan. of '74 it was $.84 - $.86 and never dropped below $.65 again.

When gas was $.40 your Charger was still worth something. Three months later it was a $400 - $600 car. That's probably why so many muscle cars went into storage. People were still making payments but couldn't afford to drive them and didn't want to "give" them away.

Stretch, I used the very first pic, next to the pump, without the chin spoiler. I like it better without. :)
That's truly a gorgeous car.

I still kick myself now and then for not buying the 73 Charger a friend's Dad had for sale back in 81/82. Not as nice as yours, but it was close to mint to an 18 year old kid. 400, four speed (IIRC), silver with black top, black bucket interior, etc... I think he was asking $1000 for it. Bought a 75 Dart Sport instead, for $720. 318, 3 speed, 3.21 SG.

Thanks again for the complement.

I just noticed you can see the wheel trim reflection on the front and rear tire tread in that pic.

I too like it better with out the spoiler. I'm pretty sure I wont be using it. I still might 3M tape it on in a different location and make sure its stright before I make a final decision on it though.

hmm can the ends be cut and smoothed?.....or...gasp..a mustang or camaro unit instead?...i know there has to be something that has a non wrap around chin....cause i seriously think it needs the chin just not the sideburns

I like the side part of that spoiler, but Stretch has no way of knowing where it's supposed to be and so the ends are warped and goofy-lookin'. They're supposed to be straight as an arrow.

It's a hollow, thin plastic piece... no way to shorten it.
