well maybe bigger than that lol...anyway ive been trolling around for a big block aluminum pan for..a long time now, and the only version i found to be available was MARINE, now i had no issues with this but finding one was going to be expensive, 250-500+, and that useualy left ya needing to find the pickup tube too which..as you guessed is marine specific as well
i managed to find one several months back, on c-list about 4 hours away, neer friends, now getting ahold of the guys and working out a time came went and failed twice before a friend finally got the unit WITH pickup for 50$..course i didnt get it for another month but hey i got it
now what i wasnt aware of is that the castings of these pans is not something your want to attempt to polish...tons of factory imperfections, nor was i aware that the pans are factory baffled, or that the pickup tube "floats" and piviots as needed...kinda cool, and lastly a threaded port on both sides for your choice of dipstick tube....but this raises a few questions like, how far into the pan should said stick sit, whats the correct way to mount a tube etc...hell im thinking semi ridgid cable like seem on some newwer fords stuffed into a braided stainless tube..not for the cool factor but the i can mount it wherever the hell i want factor

initial scrubbing FAILED, dawn, purple power..i was ready to go get some diesel and foamy..but tryed a lil laundry detergent and WOW it ate the crap right off with little more than a twice over with a toothbrush, figured for size and postarity id put it next to the mildon pan i was going to run if i couldnt find one....note the massive capacity difference, and hey its aluminum hanging under a truck..its going to make one nice oil cooler
still need to strip what little paint is left off
