Sad News....

Drowning deep in my sea of loathing...so I'm
My Father was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer early last week....given a couple months....:( This is related to his asbestos inhalations while he was a pipe layer back in the 70's/80's. Sad time for our whole family.

My condolences bro! :( Never too sure what to say in these times... Take advantage of all the time you have though!

I can relate, I lost an uncle to the same thing 12 years ago. It still baffles me how fast it took him. :(

Spend as much time as you can with him.

Condolences.
Cancer sucks. It took a handful of family members including my Mom.

Spend as much time as you can and do as many wild fun things as he can handle.

:( Take care Cow and enjoy what is left of his time. I too lost my mother to cancer. I hope that your father at least is close by. My mother was 2000kms away.

I can really relate right now, TC. I lost my Dad to cancer 12-1/2 years ago, and just found out last night that my Mom took a serious turn for the worse over the weekend and probably will not more than a couple of days, if that. I think her 4-year fight with cancer is at an end.

As I type this, the one sister that doesn't live here is on her way home. Our priest administered Last Rites yesterday.

Sorry to hear this Doc. Prayers for TC's and Your families.

Condolences to you too, Doc.

Thank you for the kind words, and condolences everyone....I appreciate it. And Doc...So sorry to hear about your mother.

It has taken them over 6 months to finally figure out what was wrong with him. But the cancer specialist said that even 2 years ago it would have been terminal. They call the lung cancer caused by asbestos a silent killer...by the time the symptoms manifest, it's already too late! :(

Spend every moment you can, TC. Talk about the past, about the good times. Start a lot of conversations with, "Remember that time...?" and make as many smiles and laughs as you can. It makes things better for both of you. My thoughts and prayers are with you and all of your family.

mesothelioma - asbestos induced lung cancer

When my uncle was diagnosed the doctors told him that the normal "dormancy" period for this is 30+ years.

It's made me think many times about all the times that I would take the air hose to the brakes before re-doing them.

/: sorry to hear the news, guys. Make the most out of the time you have left and always remember the best

Lots of good advice in these posts. Thoughts and prayers are with both of you.

Well my Father passed away at 3am this morning. Thank you everyone for your kind and compassionate support during this tough time. It's nice to know the friends I have, even if most of us have never met in person.....you're all great people!!
