Rusty's not very quiet cuda progress

Vented gas cap is on, carb kit is here, but won't get a test drive for a few days, babysitting my granddaughter for a few days, been quite a while since we had a 2year old in the house!
At least now we can spoil & send home!

Those little clips are great I used my last one hooking up the carb, at least 3 flew away never to be seen again.

If/when you get to carb jetting, work with the needles only. I doubt that your A/F ratio is very far from ideal.

I hope it doesn't get to that, if so I'll probably let my mechanic handle it, I will pass on your sage advice if I do.

Finally have the hocky stripe scheduled to go on saturday, hope this goes well, then it's just fine tuning & the A/C leak!
I know they are never done but maybe as far as this guy is concearned it is!

No show, says maybe next Sat. This guys doing it "on the side"
Gonna get an estimate from a shop next week if not crazy I'll just have them do it.
After watching mark put the small Z sticker on the pickup I almost want to try it myself???

There are some shorts related to installing the stripe, or you can watch a whole episode that has the first short in it.

Mark Worman is goofy but he does a good job explaining things.

The instructions are what turned me off, every other line was a don't do this don't do that, if the estimate is crazy I may yet give in & try it?

If it was me making the decision, I would just leave it off instead of wasting time and screwing it up trying to put it on the car LOL.

Todays ride the oil pressure seemed to stay higher longer, stops were only going down to 15 or 16, I made a stop at a friends after about 1/2 hour of driving around.
After that it got a little finicky on the way home, actually stalled when I pulled out of his driveway & made me nervous at stops, so I put it in neutral at stops to keep the idle up, think I'll try one more session before I raise the idle a tad?

Well I woke up this am wondering what I'm going to do & something rattled around in my head & popped out, go ahead & put the darn stripe on, buying another if I screw it up will be cheaper than paying someone to do it.
Wish me luck & distract my ghost for a few hours!

Well they are on, really wasn't that bad, I have a few small bubbles, they say not to mess with them after it's on they will disappear after a while, I'm thinking not on this dang car!

setting the first side20250513_131419.jpgCan't say they are exactly the same on both sides, trusted my uncalibrated eye balls for spotting! 20250513_135434.jpg20250513_135516.jpg20250513_141441.jpg20250513_141455.jpgNow if they are not on the floor when I go out tomorrow, I'll consider it a win!
& saved a few bucks too!

Ordered from Vans, 15 bucks & best of all 38cents shipping.
usually that would be 16.58, most of the time more than the part.
Now I just hope I ordered the right one?
