Yes, it was the set of ball joints with the boots already installed. I wouldn't expect you to buy new ball joints just to get boots, and on those you'd destroy the boots trying to remove them anyhow.
Dorman makes "universal" ball-joint boots that are of decent material, but the fit is dismal at best. It's a "one size fits none" situation. Seriously, they only make one size. They also make one universal tie-rod boot, which fits nothing of which I'm aware.

I wish I could speak to the durability and function of polyurethane in such an application, but I can't. It's pretty durable in compression but how it withstands repeated flexing isn't something to which I can attest.
I know this though: It's harder than a prom-night boner, and the stuff squeaks. One end of the boot or another is going to rub against metal every time you turn, and a squeak or squeal will drive you mad eventually. Find out whether whatever you buy comes with some of the manufacturer's own grease. If not, find some silicone-based, PTFE-infused grease for them and apply it liberally anywhere the the boot meets the control arm, ball joint, and steering knuckle. Regular grease, marine grease, WD40, etc. neither holds up nor works well with polyurethane. There's a reason Prothane and Energy Suspension supply and specify a particular grease with their polyurethane parts. Nothing else works worth a damn, and in this case you won't get a second chance at lubrication.
Do not attempt to lube the ball joints themselves with the silicone grease.

I don't get pissed at the cars, but I do disappoint myself by signing up for the same rigamarole over and over when maybe I should be actually out doing and being instead.

My friend was over we were going to do the doors & side glass final adjustments & then put in the steering column.
Well after about 3 hours of tweaking this & pulling on that we managed to get the drivers side as close as it's ever gonna be & ran outta daylight!
door gaps a tad wider at the top, but that may be my quarter skin install, now I can start on the fender, once we do the other side & I get that fender set in the back I can start putting the front end together & the hood!

Oh we had fun, every adjustment we made changed 3 others, I think we got lucky towards the end, we somehow hit a spot on the quarter glass where it lined up with the door glass & just tightened it all up & it stayed there.
All the other times as soon as we rolled the window up & down it friggen moved!
I have the same mess to deal with on the other side!

Well the day started out ok & then ended in disaster!
Nice early delivery of the trunk mat & insulation clips.
then I got my son out there & we were able to flip the rear end over, went pretty easy, stood it up on the springs walked it to the other side of my stand & dropped it back down!
Then I went to tighten the last few door bolts, did that & closed the door & the window overlapped again.
realized my buddy left a ton of the bolts loose, so another half hour playing with that & got it back close to where it was, quarter window is a problem, maybe the rollers in there aren't as good as I thought, I have to push the top back as I roll up the window to get it in the right place!
So I go to the other side & try to do the final adjustment on the door, first attempt way high second a little closer, now I want to move the hole thing back a tad , jack the end up,loosen the bolts stick a 2x4 on the hinge & wack away, well 2x4 caught the edge of the door, BIG friggen chip! very bad time for that to happen with a lump hammer in my hand!!!!
Took a coffee break, managed to finish the door & packed it up for the day at least!
Now with my experience of trying touch ups on this paint are telling me I'm gonna be shooting the whole door AGAIN!

It's the nature of what you're working on, fiddley bits. It's always a PITA and you'll never avoid it.

Worked in the house a few hours, pulling down blinds & moving stuff around, we are getting new windows on Monday, so it's almost 3 & trying to decide if I go mess with the car, should have stayed in!
Got the cleaned up throttle adaptor on & the fuel line fitting, I did take it outside to make sure it fit the line, the way things have been going (and are you'll see in a minuet) I figured I'd better check.

So I have a coat of paint on the throttle bracket, waiting for the next coat, I figure I'll put the scoop callouts on so I can put on the insulation.
Well now it goes to trash in about 30 seconds, the callouts were very tight going in, not even all the way down yet I tried to get it out to file the holes & SNAP, the first one broke!!!!!!!!
so I file the holes, get the second one in & go to tighten the one speed nut you can even get to & SNAP the second one breaks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So I pull out an old 340 callout I had & it slips right in the holes with no tension whatsoever!
Will be calling year one tomorrow to see if they will do anything, I waited like 6 months for these!
I'm feeling like it's time to close up shop for a while, absolutely NOTHING has gone well in the last few weeks!

Now I'm thinking I need something to work on that I won't damage, since I have the rear flipped over I can put that together, the one with the adjusting ring goes on the passenger side right?

Make sure that you have everything oriented in your brain which is right, left, front & rear because it IS upside down.

We flipped it, I knew I couldn't move it much after all that weight was on, now if I can't get it off my little stand it's sledge-o-matic time & let it bounce on the nice new tires! (the tires will only be a few inches off the ground)

I am desperately trying to find something on this car to do that won't get me upset.
Just ain't happening.
Started with the throttle cable, wasn't easy getting those retainer strips on the plug, but I managed.
then I decided to put the fitting off the old manifold, it had an extra off shoot that I'm not even sure I need, but ends up glad I did the old one was plugged solid.
Now it starts to go bad, put on the carb, connected the throttle cable & put in the springs, had to move the big spring to the far little hole, had no tension at all, the smaller one still has no tension!
somethings seriously wrong with the kick down setup.
First does that spring go there, only place that looked like a home for it?
After installing it was quite short, went back under & maxed out the adjuster, still way off...........
If I remember correctly that swivel should be straight up, in this position full throttle (oh yea I did recheck that after I bolted the carb down, seems good to go) does not even touch it. 
there's one more spring I think goes on the kick down side, but It would be way stretched out if I hook it up now, so I stuck it back in the bag.
Wasting time I stuck some goop on the emblems, doubt it will hold but they look better for a little while!
