You want the actual drummers, or just the conga line of guys that bang sticks around?

Neil is the awesome one with the 360 degree kit
and the kit on a raft in the middle of a harbour
and pretty much the only drummer anyone thinks about when they think of RUSH.
He's the key to the band to this day as far as I'm concerned.
He writes 99.999% of the lyrics since he joined the band.

The best story I ever read about him was how Geddy and Alex showed in his driveway one day with a tape of some music they just finished writing for the song, "Witch Hunt." It was in 4/4 time and Neil said, "I'll have to learn to play that somehow." He got a drum machine set up to play the song and then learned from it. He said he had to teach his body to move in ways it never had to before.

Most of RUSH's songs have crazy weird time signatures and they even change within one song. So, a basic 4/4 time was a challenge.

Well, I thought it was funny.

So, if you all haven't figured it out, I'm still looking for the first drummer's name. (Yeah, there was only one other.) He's on the first album. Did the first tour and then, as the story goes, burned out on touring - just didn't like it out on the road. Sort of the "Fifth Beatle" of Canadian Rock.
