And so we begin a new project…

Overall: The project plan is a Street/Strip car.
Street: Pump Gas engine, Stock body
Strip: Bolt on the slick and make decent power for the low 11 seconds all motor (and then see if we want to go faster)It will be done in (at least) 2 phases

Many of the items will be overkill for stage 1 but will be appropriate for Stage 2

This will be designed mostly for Straight Line 1/4 mile as street cruising will be done with the other Mopar Ride.

Stage 1

Body: Solid Southern Body, 68 Road Runner Post Car. 6 Pak Hood
Undercoating removal and then onto suspension. There are ladder bars in the car but they will be moved to a more stable location. Potentially back brace the housing.
Sent the body to Chris (69x9x9) for Paint
Color, STILL Undetermined

Powerplant: The 440 (that was in my old 72 Cuda) will sit between the fender for Round 1, This mill has 915 closed chamber heads and with a camshaft and converter courtesy of Good Friend Firefighter, 727 forward manual tranny, 8 ¾ and 4:10 gears.
We may put the old 509 cam back into her and a 850 Holley DP.

Cooling: Summit Rad
Fuel Delivery 3/8 line, Carter Mechanical Pump, Stock gas tank

Interior, None right now, so likely some light weight seats and the door Panels that 69x9x9 gave me (Thanks Pal!)

Stage 2

500 Inch Stroker with Edelbrock or Indy EZ heads, 2 inch TTI headers and 3 inch pipes out back. It that ain’t fast enough, Maybe some Laughing Gas

or a 400 Low Deck with a ProCharger. A buddy has a 383 stroker Procharger with improving results. (it can be an impressive powerplant)

727 Tranny with low band apply manual valve body.
Potentially a Dana rear

Member 69x9x9 lent me some stands that make the work under the car MUCH easier, Thanks Chris

Some Undercoating Removal. Sandblasting looks like a good option. I am very happy with the solid nature of this car.

The engine bay, Very minor surface rust near the wiper motor and the brake MC. Chris will weld up the big hole that is there for Air Conditioning

Engine bay and front frame rails. The K frame will be removed and rebuilt out of the car.

Front Brakes are 73 Ebody and we have Magnum Force Tubular A Arms. I still need to get the Calipers, lines etc

Here is the rear suspension. It has been removed and the ladder bars will be moved further to the wheels for better stability

Ummmmm......Bob,you maybe right,I'm not sure how he managed it,but he got her up there,I alway's used a hoist to put em on,either way Bravo Rob ! another Roadrunner coming to a dragstrip near you ! if that doesn't give ya wood ............ [smilie=e: ! I think that car came out of Nevada IIRC,hence the sweet body, and yes, another gaping hole to fill,I havethe donor for ya' tho' Rob,the firewall in that '66 Belv. up top is solid,if I don't use it on Rons car,but ron has a donor, and if his was cut large enuff',,, we'll save it for you. if not I'll find another. keep up the nice work, yes, you will need to blast under there,if you want to still paint body color and have it look sweet.

hey Rob,are you gonna' use that '67 GTX 8 3/4 axle? if not bring her back when you come,I'd like to put it to use. and I'll refund ya' !

which inner door panels did I give you ? i have a few more frt. and rear in stock again, did I give you rears ?

Chris. It looks like I am gonna use the rear housing.

FYI You gave me the front panels. I think I may need the rears panels but I will check

no problem on the housing,I should keep what I have in the 62,a 68 B Body unit already set up with long studs and greenies,..........here's your buddy hard at work ! I gave him a body saw,and he went wild, shaved all the console/buddy seat brackets from the hump and cleaned em' up,to make room for that big ol' 1/4 stick

Hey I like the stands.
Any chance on posting the measurements so I could build a set???
I can have a look and take some measurements,.(if I can remeber when I drive to the shop)

Looking good Rob...that Runner is gonna be sweet. So nice to have a clean chassis to start with.....and that car IS clean, make no mistake ! She'll look a whole buch better with that undercoating scraped off. That job sucks....spent a week with a scraper taking mine off....been there, lol.

Ron
