This thread needed updating.

In the intervening years we've been traumatized by David Draiman's murdering of "Sound of Silence", Five Finger Death Punch tormenting every song they've ever covered, Bad Wolves' dismembering of "Zombie"and the molestation of "Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)" by Daughtry and Lizzy Hale--neither of whom has the talent nor range to cover a Steve Perry lyric.

I still wonder what became of Rustbucket, and miss several other contributors to this thread that no longer frequent.

My thrice-weekly visits to the chiropractor has me subjected to whatever the hell kind of muzak they're pumping in to the waiting room...
I know that every one is a cover song of something, but the horror is so real that I'm trying to scrub it all from my memory, but one that is firmly rooted is a dance/techno/fast tempo'd piece of sh*te of Brain Damage by Pink Floyd.
I may never recover...

Luke Combs surrendered his man card to cover Tracy Chapman's "Fast Car", a very gender-specific song that wasn't good the first time it was performed. For a man to sing those lyrics is freakin' hysterical. Oh, Luke... you're so woke!

Not sure he's ever had a man card.

He may not have. I'm not really familiar; I don't listen to cousin-courtin' mewsic, a.k.a. "country". I don't think there's a single song in my almost-900-entry playlist that mentions either a pickup truck or fishing. :p
