OK... go ahead... knob... OK good...get it all out? Now... on to the question...

I have a console with the woodgrain on it. Yet my shifter knob is the chrome one... I wonder if anyone knows if this is correct? The plastic button is flaking and before I shell out bucks either for a new um...knob... or have the button re-chromed (at God knows what cost) I wonder if it's not suipposed to be the fake wood knob.....

Your knob is flaking? :wtf: Oh dear.

I'd suggest using a different moisturizer.....and how in the heck do you fake a wood knob? :hmmm: .....Oh, nevermind. :shifty:

*in Bevis voice* Huh huh huh, he said knob an' woodgrain an' button... *end Bevis voice*

:bwuhaha: :p

ive never personaly seen that style in fake wood...wasnt aware that B's came with the same knob as a's

The parts book lists only one knob for a 68 automatic console.

It looks like the chrome one - which is what I thought all along - chrome in 68.

The only woodgrain knob I see in the book for 68 is on a manual tranny.

and if you want to know the part number, it's 2660357.
The button is 2800819

Thanks...but it's a 69... are they the same for both 68 and 69?

Ive never seen anything else- just pull it and paint it silver and shoot some clear over it.[smilie=f:

Okay, then it could be either, but I would think that with all the other woodgrain pieces, the knob should be as well.

I'll go dig up part numbers in a minute.

Interesting......

Knob, w/PAD, Gearshift Control Selector Lever, w/Consolem Wood Grained
- for all applications except Valiant and Imperial... 2950713

Die cast, P, D, w/Console, Canada
- only for Plymouth and Dodge applications... 2660357

Button was either chrome plated or black (after Oct. 1968 or somewhere thereabouts.)
2800819 Chrome button
2950715 Black Button

first of all... thanks for the info! THat's awesome!

Now... I'm not sure I quite understand...chrome button would assume chrome know too right? I don't think I have EVER seen a woodgrain knob with a chrome button...but of course I'm no expert.

Oh yeah sorry. I had that ectra info handy so I posted it.

Wood knob gets black button..

Die cast knob gets chrome button.
