The sale of the 1927 Kelvinator plant, which successively became the headquarters of American Motors and then Chrysler’s Jeep/Truck Engineering until it was sold in 2009, has been reversed.
The former plant had been sold at auction for $600 plus, depending on reports, $160,000 or $232,000 in taxes.
In 2010 it was sold for $2 million to “Plymouth Road One,”run by James George of Clinton Township. Two years later, the Plymouth Road One corporation sold it to Detroit resident Terry Williams, a demolition man with a mixed reputation, who is now in prison for illegal weapons possession and handling asbestos at the Plymouth Road complex improperly.
