Porch sightings

68R/T

I got drunk and swallowed my teeth, now
Just a small sampling of some of the things seen going past my front door this weekend;

The white one had a nice rumble to it;

Gotta love the "old school" look;

We'll just file this under "WTF" :huh:

I'm not quite sure how to process the Polara, but I'd love to see the Willy's with the nose up where God intended it to be.[smilie=::

I like the street rod rake. It's how I would build one. I'm actually starting to tire of the whole retrogasser thing.... Like anything else, when something is overdone, it's overdone. Kind of like a radio station playing a song you like to death.... Do something different already...

What's up with the ground floor pics? Had you fallen and couldn't get up? ;)

The polara would look good with the "Mama Bee" removed, and those yellow drums painted cast iron grey. :)

I didn't (and still don't) know where you live, but you weren't outside if/when we drove past you. It was about 9AM on Friday. I don't have your phone number, either, otherwise I would've called you. I'm supposed to go back for the fall swap, which won't be a last-minute thing, so perhaps we can get together then. I'm also probably going to be at Iola, though I don't know if you go to that one at all.

I've been to Iola a few times, but I can't do swaps anymore. :( The cartilage in my left ankle has deteriorated to the point that walking is no longer a recreation. The only "cure" is fusion. My left foot does the shifting on the bike. I know I could easily modify the shifter to make it work for me, but I'm just trying to 'get by' as long as I can.

If you went past my place or not depends on which way that you came into J-town. You've got 2 choices from the north. Hwy 26 to Puerner St. points you right at the grounds. Hwy 18 to Jackson Ave. goes past my place. The grounds are on Jackson about a block & a half from me. (I'll let you park free :shifty:)

You're right, I wasn't outside Friday @ 9AM, but I was Saturday & Sunday. :huh:

I was a vapor trail by 4PM. My compatriots got wet and there were concerns they might melt, so we headed back home. I wanted to stay down there for the weekend but I had no arrangements for the dog, so it was in and out on Friday.

Yeah, as usual the weather wasn't ideal for it again. That's why it's become known as the Jefferson Swam Meet. The spring meet is always cold & muddy, and the fall meet is hot & dusty, ya can't win. :huh:

Rain at a swap meet is fuckin' hilarious. I love watching those guys go into panic mode to pull tarps over parts that have been rusting in a junkyard or behind ma's barn for the last 35-90 years... apparently this is the storm that will finally do in that Model A fender!

If you'd like to PM me your phone number, I'll get in touch with you around the next one. I'm going to try and get Stretch to clear some time for Fall so he can check it out... he's never been to a Jeffy swap.

I've been to a few swamp meets, been involved.
Laugh all you want, it's no picnic when you realize you're in the back row of a field, with a 2wd and a heavy Cummins in the nose.

Mark.

I've got two spare rooms but only a single bed in one.....but lots of floor space.......and a half acre yard............and a fire pit. :quaff:

I have a fold-out portable mattress that, I'm not joking, is spectacular for my back. Stretch can sleep in a tent on the far edge of the property where his snoring will only sound like you've got a sawmill in the garage, rather than running right next to your damned head. :D
