Good time party boy
That's the only picture I have so far. This is located down by Gio. He was nice enough to say he'd go look at the car if needed but my dad is taking his chances on it being a solid car by the story that goes with the car. Hopefully that works out well for him. He leaves tomorrow morning at 5 AM to head down to Denver. I wish I could join him and meet the legendary Gionator but alas, I don't feel like sitting in the back seat of an extended cab '94 Chevy for 30 hours.
The ad:
1970 mustang fastback. Original owners, lots of memories with this car. This is a project car and will only sell to the right person who has a passion for these kind of cars. Modified 351 cleveland engine, color: white (original cimaron red).
I think it'll be a nice car if my dad does it back to original. He doesn't like red interiors but I've never seen another red on red Mustang before and I'm trying to convince him that it'll look ok but I can't find pictures of this combo anywhere. The interior is pretty well spotless besides the front seats seams splitting. The carpet is original and looks better than the carpet in my car that's ~8 years old.
The story of the car is pretty interesting. The dad of the current owner bought the car after returning from overseas in '69. Everybody stationed overseas was offered any car of their choice at a discount for their services. The current owner remembers his dad taking the kids to the park in the car and while the kids played, dad had the car parked in the shade under a tree and waxed it. The only rust that was ever on the car was in a lower quarter and that was cut out and replaced years ago when the car was painted white. The original owner passed away 2 years ago and the son that owns the car knows about as much about cars as I do about nuclear physics. He only wants to sell it to somebody who's going to take care of the car and restore it. Somehow my dad convinced him over the last 3 nights of calls that he's that somebody. As far as the modifications on the engine, all I can see is headers and a Carter AFB. He'll return Saturday night sometime so I'll try and get pictures Sunday sometime. It's not a Mopar but I'm kind of excited for him since he's wanted a muscle car for a long time but hasn't been able to due to having kids and what not to pay for.
