Pissed off

Ok so I dry installed the intake to look a bit closer.

The heads must of been surfaced at some point.

I do remember the deck on the block needed some cleaning up so I figure if he took .005 off the deck and if .005 off the head I am down roughly .01

Looking at the bolt holes on the intake I noticed they were up about 1/4 of the hole.
So I put the intake on the Bridgeport and I ended up taking .03 till the holes lined up center of the heads holes.
Now everything looks a lot better.

So I grabbed my spare .03 mopar w2 gaskets, some rtv silicone and the high tack stuff and reinstalled the intake.

This is still a test and just waiting for the rtv to set.
OH .. I left the end seals and I threw them in the direction of the trash can ... my dog is now mutilating them.

I plan to go for a spin and see if I gained anything by this test.

I'm having the same intake problem on my truck. I noticed I was two quarts down, (haven't checked it in a while) and that the engine wasn't leaving drips. I noticed a residue in the exhaust. So I pointed the passenger mirror down at the side exit pipes, and found it fogging my trail in other cars' headlights. Pulled the gaskets, oil was partway up the middle of them. I reinstalled them, same problem.. I got a pair of the metal gaskets, and slightly over tightened them. So far so good. No clouds. The heads I got were small port 318 off of a '90. The casting # is whatever's after the 302, but before the magnum. They're still closed chamber, and were freshly machined. I'm wondering if they weren't milled right.
