Hey guys, thought I'd share a couple pictures of the fish my hubby and his buddies caught yesterday. The 2nd picture shows our buddy holding a 44" long pike that weighed in @ 25 lbs. 10 oz. These fish were caught just outside of St. Maries, Idaho-about an hours drive from where I live. They're very yummy.....mmmmmm. :)

Holy smokes! I gotta admit, of all the fish I like to catch, pike scare the crap outta me when it comes to unhookin em! :)
Nice fish!!

Now that's a fine day of fishin right there.

Used to ice fish for pike quite often, once upon a time.. many years ago.

Fresh winter pike is good eatin indeed. :)

:eek2:Dang! Those are almost as big as me! I like flounder and a good blackened tuna steak, but I've never had pike before. I used to go flounder fishing when I lived at the beach. Used to catch 'em down at the Indian River Inlet just north of Fenwick Island, DE. I kinda miss that.

Nice! I love to ice fish. We usually fish for pike when we go. The hardest part about those fish is flaying out the y-bones but once you learn how it’s not that difficult. Buy the way my buddies and I call them “Snot rockets”.

To me pike taste similar to bass, but much better! We like to cook them in 'shake & bake'. :)

I roll them in egg and then in Italian bread crumbs and garlicand then fry it. Some times I just boil it like cod, it is also good baked in tomato soup. Some times I chop up some onions, green peppers, and some pre cooked bacon. Put it in aluminum foil with some garlic and butter and cook it on the grill. Yes I do that in the winter. I use it all year.

winter grill use is a necessity.... when you have a grill of course....
