I just can't find a high-enough resolution shot of an A4 or even silver '71 to do it. The car has to have the stripe already on it; I'm not good enough to lay one on the pic myself. I have an e-mail in to a friend who's been to the Wellborn museum a number of times and has tons of high-res pics. Hopefully he's got something I can use.
My idea, for the record, involves doing the wide center stripe in the dark red/maroon, but the outer thin stripes in black. I don't know if I'll be able to do the hood the way I was thinking, but I was thinking the '73-'74 style blackout (like Stretch's car), but instead of A4 showing through the cutouts, the dark red/maroon. Since the car's going to be customized, no harm in going with what I think is a better-looking hood treatment and incorporating the red into it.
