Hiding In The Bushes While
Went to this yard only a few miles from town to pick up this '82 Cordoba for $100 sans drivetrain (V8 Car) so I've got lots of extra parts for the stock car! :giggedy:

Pic taken from my upstairs window with my phone as my camera was dead.

While I was there I had a look around and I came across this wicked find!

1976 ex-RCMP Police Interceptor Gran Fury 440 4bbl 9.25 3.91 SG!!! :giggedy::giggedy::giggedy:

Ran and drove when parked 4 years ago and run every summer after.

Gonna be woking out a deal for it next week.

He also has a '79 Caprice Interceptor 350 4bbl 3.73 12-bolt posi, would make a pretty decent stock car.

I just about crapped myself when I saw those mint vented dog dishes on blue steel wheels. :D

My brother-in-law has an ex 76 Gran Fury RCMP cruiser still sitting beside his quonset hut in Airdrie. He robbed the 440 for his 61 Power Wagon, but the rest of the car still sits there since '87. (
Good score on the parts car.

You just had your field cleared out....guess it's time to start restocking...:D

That's a good point! :D

The only thing that sucks about the car is that it's locked and the owner can't find the keys.

So it looks like when I go get it I'm gonna have to bring my slim-jims and a steering wheel puller. :p

A 12-bolt in a late-'70s Caprice? I was pretty sure the 12-bolt went away in passenger cars by '77, but I could certainly be wrong. I'd probably pull the cover and make sure... GM's "bolt count" rear axles are rated by the number of ring-gear bolts, so what's on the cover is immaterial. Lots of BOP A-body 12-bolts had only 10 bolts on the cover, but 12 ring-gear bolts.

If it is a 12-bolt, I'd bet it's a truck-style 12-bolt. That's not a bad thing.

The cop car is an awesome find, particularly for the race car. Grab the firm-feel steering box and the PS cooler. Cop-car speedometers bring large bucks on eBay, too, as do a lot of other cop-car/taxi parts. I once got almost $50 for a oil-fill extension tube from my '85 Gran Fury squad after refinishing the gold paint. I was sure it was cop/taxi only until I found one on my '82 Imperial.

I'm just going from what the owner told me, I didn't have a machete with me so I couldn't have a look underneath even if I wanted too. :p

Screw the stock car that Firm feel box is gonna go in my New Yorker! :D

im not sure about the high pressure fitting fitting but you could just as easily route it all on the low pressure side and still get the same effect...or get a fitting to make it work....then again..most of the brands all use the same damn pump thru the 60s-70s-80s lol especily trucks and vans
