Two new Ram grilles have surfaced recently: the Ram Rebel and the new Laramie Limited, shown for the first time today. Both have jettisoned the crosshair grille, arguably launched in the 1930s, and displayed the Ram name prominently within the grille.
According to the lead Ram exterior designer, Greg Howell, the main inspiration for this grille is a piece of furniture and the desire to showcase the Ram name. He said that numerous designers produced sketches of grilles that could echo the design theme of the furniture; the onechosentied in the headlights and the Ram name, whichon this particular trim line replaces “the animal” (the original Dodge trucklogo, a ram’s head).
