The paint fumes have cleared so I'm
One of my body and paint jobs from around '04-'05.
Several other shops did various parts of the truck - my current boss did the taillight install - and lucky us got to make sure everything fit and to smooth everything out. We spent a shitload of time getting the front clip squared away, widening and welding the rear fenders to the box side and getting the problematic door openers to work every time.
Lots and lots of blocking... and then I got to listen to six or eight different opinions on the colour layout before loading the paint in the gun. If I recall, I laid out the design early one morning before anyone else was awake and then got the owner and his wife to ok it, before all the other experts chimed in. Took two full days to get it all sprayed...
I did NOT do the stupid little light blue and beige thing on the cab... not sure why it's there. it looks like shit.
It's been driven a lot since we did it, going to shows all over North America.
He bought it from a nephew of Lawrence Welk. Supposedly Lawrence himself bought it new.
