OK what car parts do you want Santa to bring?

as much as id love to have a title in hand and ready 2 things are required for anything "out of state" a vin inspection and a 30day wait

that applys to EVERYTHING that isnt allready wearing(or was wearing) an oregon plate..1 state up 1 state over 1 state down..yup they too have to get the inspection.....the "30 day wait" is whats "on the forms" but i dont know of ever waiting more than 2 weeks...save for my truck which had NO paperwork and NO VIN ...not so much as a bill of sale, and had to go thru the state troopers to even get movement...it took 4 weeks after filing everything

He's not.
Having met him a time or two, I can say the guy is a massive gearhead, and will help just about anyone if he can.
But, he is a pretty busy guy, so a bit of a wait time might be involved.
+1
I met him once. Super nice guy.

AND - from my experience at least - you need to submit copies of everything to U.S. Customs at least 72 hours in advance of crossing so that they can do their due diligence on the vehicle. They check for stuff like theft and use in the commission of a crime, etc..

I have tried contacting someone at the border/customs agency over the phone, but after playing the "on hold" waiting game for an hour I had to hang up and get to other things. I'll have to set aside several hours to be on hold and hope I can get to talk to a human. Even if I get a favorable response from someone over the phone I'm still going to want to drive down and talk to the people at the Border crossing in person....having 2 people confirming that everything is OK (will have dates, times and names recorded) will make it less likely to have an issue when I show up.

69...while that potential 30 day would be inconvenient logistics wise...but nothing that could not be worked around. If this is the route I need to go I might pay to have the car shipped to your place, then once the paper work is sorted out I would drive down and pick it up.

If you're not going to fetch it from AL yourself, perhaps Mr. Klutt or his company could get the car transported to them, through customs and the whole nine, as a paid service? This was an idea @Stretch mentioned yesterday at work, and I think it's a good one. It might even be something they already do. It's definitely worth a phone call. As I said, they've got to be well-versed in such things after all these years.

I take it you're working a lot more these days. Between work and a gaggle of kids, and it's no surprise your time's already spent. Time I've got, room is another thing entirely.
I am, among other things. trying to get a few things started that take huge amounts of time. Kids are aging out haha, one is on her own with a baby. One is spending some time with the state for being an a-hole and the third with my ex is hanging out at home and working full time trying to get his $h#t together to get out on his own. We're down to 2 in school, one in ninth and one in fifth grades.

Here's a pic of my grandson Elijah from Christmas.

Cute Grandson! Santa didn't bring Jester any car parts for Christmas, but it looks like my 2.5 year old daughter is going to get a sibling in 2022...

Getting too old for this, I'm going to be Grandpa Dad when they're graduating high school.
